In need of some good-for-you plant medicine? Try this energizing and cleansing green morning drink. It's packed with all the essentials your body needs to function properly.

Avocados are packed with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, protein, and about 20 essential vitamins and minerals. Broccoli is a yummy green vegetable that is high in many nutrients, including fiber and vitamin A, B, C, and K. Antioxidant-rich red beets are a great source of folate, manganese, potassium and copper. They also pack a good amount of dietary fiber, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin C, iron and vitamin B6.

So much plant goodness and love in one glass!

TROPICAL AVO BROCCOLI RED BEET MORNING DRINK


INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2 FOR BREAKFAST)


  • 1 cup bok choy, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1.5 cups mixed tropical fruit (I used frozen mango, banana, and pineapple)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 small raw red beet
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
  • Optional topping: chia seeds and hemp hearts

DIRECTIONS


  1. Place greens and water into a blender. Blend until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything on at once.
  2. Top with your fav toppings if you like.
