PINK SMOOTHIE OF THE DAY | PINK MORNING GLOW (+ WHY YOU SHOULD SOAK UP SOME SUN EVERY DAY)

-1.jpg

Rise up with a grateful heart and start this beautiful day with a glass of good-for-you plant medicine. Nothing better than to enjoy a green smoothie in the garden with the rays of the sun warming your cheeks.

SE-Asia definitely turned me into a morning person. Mornings are so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful here. And the best part, the sun isn't too strong yet so you can soak up your much-needed vitamin D for the day.

Vitamin D - Why You Should Soak Up Some Sun Every Day

Vitamin D is essential to our overall health. It regulates calcium and phosphorous absorption, boosts the immune system, and helps to build strong muscles, teeth, and bones.

Furthermore, many studies suggest vitamin D plays a significant role in the prevention of many diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), heart diseases, and bacterial or viral infections. These days, many people are vitamin D deficient. And most of them don’t even know it.

The best way to get enough vitamin D is through sun exposure. Hence vitamin D's nickname "sunshine vitamin." How much sun you need a day depends on many factors such as age, skin color, time of the day, season, and the use of sunscreen.

Vitamin D production only happens when your skin is unprotected from the sun. Soaking up at least 10 to 15 minutes of healing sun each day will give you enough of the sunshine vitamin. But do not forget, no sunscreen.

So if the weather allows it, make some time each morning to go sit outside with your green drink. Pure bliss!

But let's talk smoothie. Though this one might not be for everyone as it tastes quite green, I loved it! And it's so good for you.
