Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 1 Week 3 | My Experience with the Diary Game: The Genesis and how it Stands | by @fredquantum

Introduction

It's another precious week in the Steemit Engagement Challenge, the third week to be precise. Different contests organized across the seven communities have been engaging users meaningfully on Steemit, strengthening friendships, and rewarding the participants. I'm glad to have been a participant since the inception and today I will be attending another one.

The Steem Venezuela community has brought a great innovation that seeks to hear about our memories of the Diary game on Steemit. What a great piece to attend and I will be doing Justice to the contest in this context today. Stay with me and enjoy a great ride today.

My Diary Game Journey

I signed up on Steemit on the 12th of January 2021 and it was on the third day after registering that I began writing diary game articles, although, I have written my achievement one post, two other contests, my town in 10 pics articles by that time. Precisely, my first diary post was written on the 14th of January 2021 and that is where the journey all began.

At that time, the diary game is one of the most blazing categories users actively write on, seeing this, I didn't hesitate to start making my entries on it as well. The first entry I made didn't get support (but I get support on other contests) but I kept on participating in contests and the diary games until the 5th day after, I got my first support from the SC01 account. Let's take a look at the image below.

I remember the day my diary game article got supported by SC01, I stepped out to make payment for the energy bill at the power holding company and when I was taking the picture of the signpost, I was challenged by one of the company's officials on what I would do with the picture, I told him I have the right to take pictures whenever I wish and I eventually explained the purpose to him, lol.

Before January 2021 ended, my month of registering on Steemit, I made a total of 15 entries in the diary game even though I started at midway but I remained consistent in the journey. I have also kept a record of the last diary game entry I made in that month, let's see it below.

How the Diary Game has Helped Me

In this section, I would be talking about a few ways that I have benefited and still benefiting from the diary game articles. Let's get to it.

  • Secured Documentation: Before I started the diary game, my day's record has always been limited to the to-do list in a paper/cellphone which definitely wears out over time (burning the paper to reduce unnecessary loads in the house or reset phone/new device). I have been able to document on Steemit such that it's non-destructive and I can easily go back to them any time to feel the touch of memory.

  • Display of Skills: I have utilized the diary game to display my skills from time to time, and this helped me to connect with a few people on-chain whom saw something good in what I have included in my diary game articles. For example, I had used some of my diary game articles in my early days on Steemit to showcase my graphics and cryptocurrency trading skills. Let's see the image below.

  • Monetization of Diary: I can't even imagine I can be able to monetize my daily activities by presenting them in the diary game. Joining Steemit and the diary game gave me the chance to monetize my activities giving the information about how I had spent the day.

  • Learning: I have also enjoyed the privilege of learning from other users' diary game entries which gives me an idea of how people spend their days in different parts of the world and learn from the things they have engaged in. I remember reading about different types of Arepas here sometimes ago and I have been determined to make some.

I had joined the diary game at the beginning because some of the community's off-chain groups I belonged to kept emphasizing the importance of participating in the diary game and it has been part of me since then. And some of my recruits on Steemit are also participating.

Where are We?

A good question to ask myself, yes, I still participate in the diary games, though not every day as such I still ensure that I participate a few times a week. In addition, I will share about the recent ones that I made. You can take a look at the images below.

The story is not complete without the Steemit team in the picture, they have done a great job to reward diary game articles and I have been a beneficiary of the initiative since I joined Steemit and I am very grateful to the team for such kind gestures displayed. For me, so far I haven't identified any disadvantages of the diary game, it's basically recordings of how my day went.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it's a great pleasure for me to participate in this wonderful contest and I commend the community for such a thoughtful contest topic, it brings back a lot of memories since I joined Steemit and my present level on the platform. It's actually a spirit awakening one for me to be consistent with the diary game again as I was in the beginning. Thanks to everyone who read with me today and I hereby invite @endersontowers, @carlaisl, and @samuel20 to take part in the contest.
