Day Five:

Today, I am thankful for being tired.

I am tired because I am working hard. I'm working hard because I have an amazing contract to work on. I have an amazing contract to work on because Jesus/God brought my name to the mind of a former colleague from about ten years ago. For all of this, I am tremendously grateful.

I'm grateful for the people I'm working with.

My old colleague contacted me out of the blue to ask if I had time to commit to this task. Although there was a long delay between first hearing about the possibility of this work and when I was actually able to begin, it all ultimately fell into place and began in time to rescue me from financial disaster.

We are a small team of five, collaborating to produce a world-class software and graphical user interface solution for a game-changing piece of laboratory equipment. Everyone on the team has a complementary skill set, and we all work together very well. This makes for pleasant days and rapid progress.

I am thankful for progress on the contract.

For about a month, we've collaborated over the internet. This week, we've had a couple of days of working together in the same office, The integration of our work is going very well so far.

Work is a real blessing, and even more so when it has the superb combination of excellent compensation, mind-stretching new things to learn, and ideal application of my existing mad skillz that my present engagement has.

Today was a very long, demanding day. I am very tired, and I thank Jesus my God for all of it.

P.S. If you have an "in" with anybody at Steemit, Inc. - Would you please ask them to get rid of these damn, extremely annoying "off-website" arrow/boxes? The have, overnight, made Steemit ugly. There are much better solutions.
