Rules rule my life
No matter how old I am, where I go or a or what I do. I always have to stick to the rules. If I do not want something bad will happen to me, the ones I love, care for or like.
As I was a little baby I already had to live by the rules.
My mother did feed me as she thought it was time to do so. So I was crying day and night. She locked me in into the bathroom, so she did not need to hear me crying.
At school I had to live by many rules as well.
If not the teachers did punish me. They loved to punish about nothing or everything. Mainly because of my looks. It was the same at home.
In shops, on the street, if I go out, in traffic, I have to live by the rules.
Every where are different rules, many I never even heard of. I even have to live by other people their (religious) rules, although nobody lives by mine.
The society I live in has rules,
the neighbours have their own rules and so has CPS, Animal rescue, social security, the postman, taxi driver, DJ on the radio, the government and the school of my children. I can hardly remember all these rules, it is a good thing I do most of them automatically.
The prison has rules too.
There are many rules a prisoner has to live by, but also guards, family, friends, visitors and pen-pals.
For example not every prisoner is allowed to receive gifts.
Some prisons ask you to fill out a form,
a form for receiving phone calls, so you can send a parcel.
Other prisons just want you to send books or cassette tapes send by the seller, plus they need to be brand new. If this is not the case they throw it away.
One prison refuses to deliver letters
if you do not write your name and address on each site of the paper you write your letter on. If not so they throw them away.
An other prison just changed the rules if it comes to writing letters.
It is only allowed to write on white paper.
Pictures printed on normal paper are no longer allowed either.
I do not like rules. I hate living by them. Yes I do understand some are necessary, but to me they cause me a lot of stress.
