Day 8:

We started off from our Hotel Centra in Ahmedabad around 10 am. Since Manu was staying far away from us, we decided on a rendezvous which was around 60 kilometers away.

Let's update about our departure from Ahmedabad on social media.

Our bikes ready to set sail.

We kept riding and missed the point where we had decided to meet. Fortunately Manu noticed us and caught up with us soon. We rode for a distance and it started raining heavily. There was no shelter so we kept riding in heavy rains and poor visibility.

We stopped for a photo break once it stopped raining.

During our short break we discussed about the previous day and shared our experiences. Manu spent his day by visiting his relatives' hospital and watching a movie with them while we discovered some places in Ahmedabad. Later we fueled up and decided to ride non stop until lunch hour.

Tanking up.

All of us were hungry after traveling for quite a while but we couldn't find any hotels or restaurants. It was just straight stretch of roads that seemed to never end.

Manu had brought some parcelled Gujarati food from home. We grabbed a bite in this beautiful location with railway tracks and occasional train passing by in the background.

This place was so good that we felt like camping and staying there for the night. But we had a lot of miles to cover. The maps said we would reach Ajmer in 8 hours and the roads were pretty straight. But we couldn't figure out why we felt like we were just going round and round the same place and not covering any miles.

Soon we came across these rocky surfaces beside the highway. We had reached Rajasthan borders. To reach Mount Abu we had to travel inner roads. We however decided to keep it for next time.

I was bored of riding the straights that I decided to do some rock climbing instead!

While these guys were busy clicking my picture, I went ahead and clicked a picture of theirs.

And a picture of ours.

And then some.

Have a look at how straight and beautiful the roads are!

Close up view. You can buy these on their website for 50 bucks. There was nothing exciting on this day except that we lost our way and ended up going in the wrong way for about 10+ kilometers until we met a group of Superbikers who guided us in the right directions.

We stopped at a dhaba (roadside hotel) in the night and that's when we realised the risk we were taking by riding on these roads in the dark. The dhaba guy was concerned and suggested us to stay in the nearest city we get on our way.

That's when the idea of Ajmer came up and we decided to stay there for the night. We called up Hotel Nataraj guy and informed him that we would be arriving late. It was 1 am when we reached. The owner was awake and opened up the gates for us.

We unloaded our luggage from our bikes, got to our room and dozed off. We were extremely tired. What was supposed to be an 8 hours journey turned out to take 15 hours. It wasn't a very exciting day but we got to see Rajasthan Jugaads, tunnels and beautiful mountains.

You must be wondering what a Jugaad is. Google it. It's on Wikipedia as well now!
