[CONTEST] MSP Waves Radio : Pennsif on Air with Globocop : What happened in 1964? - 500 SP delegation to be won

I am back on MSP Waves Radio again today co-hosting with @globocop on his Frequency Waves 432Hz show.

The Frequency Waves 432Hz show is currently running a series focusing each week on the events, music and news of one year of the 1960s.

Today's show is all about 1964.

As a little extra Christmas present we have a 1964 quiz contest with a first prize of 500 SP delegation for six months, kindly sponsored by @aggroed and @lovejuice.

There will also be 3 runners up prizes of full upvotes from my account and the @msp-waves account - worth $2.50 together.

There are 9 questions to answer all about 1964.

Some of the questions you can answer with a bit of nifty footwork on DuckDuckGo or Google. Others are a bit more sneaky and you really will need to listen to the show to hear the answers.

So here are the questions - good luck!

  1. Winston Churchill retired as a Member of Parliament in 1964 - how old was he when he retired?

  2. The actress Britt Ekland got married in 1964, what famous nuclear comedy did her husband star in?

  3. What famous 1964 children's film did Pennsif go to see while on a windy holiday in Aberyswyth in that year?

  4. Which former US First Lady was born in 1964?

  5. The summer of 1964 in the UK was marred by repeated violent clashes between the Mods and the Rockers. Pennsif's brother in law was involved in these clashes - was he a Mod or was he a Rocker?

  6. What famous long running pop music show first aired on BBC TV in 1964?

  7. The UK and France agreed the deal to begin construction of the Channel Tunnel in 1964. When did the tunnel finally open for business?

  8. What was the most significant event in Pennsif's life in 1964?

  9. Which famous boxer became Heavyweight Champion of the World in 1964 and then changed his religion and his name all in that same year? What were both his names?

How to enter...

There are two ways to enter this contest.

The first way is to listen to the show live. Then towards the end of the show we will take a few callers through Discord that want to have a go at answering all the questions live on air - you will need a mic for this.

The second way to enter is through this post. To enter just upvote and resteem this post and put your 9 answers in a comment below.

If any of the callers get all 9 questions correct live on the show they will win the first prize of the 500 SP delegation for 6 months. Then only the runners up prizes will be available for those entering on this post.

If no one wins live on air, then the first prize and the runners up prizes will be available for entrants on this post.

If you don't manage to listen to all the show live @globocop will be posting a recording of the talk parts of the show for you to listen again to get the answers.

This contest will run until midnight UTC of Friday 29 December 2017.

The winners will be drawn randomly and announced on next Saturday's show on 30 December.

This sort of cross platform contest is a first for us so we may need to tweak it as we go along. If people enjoy it we will try to have more similar contests as we go through the 1960s series of shows.

The Frequency Waves 432Hz show will be on MSP Waves Radio on Saturday from 9pm to 12midnight UTC.
