Producing music: unique sounds part 3 special effect -Tips for beginners (Ableton Live 9) [Tutorial]

Hello steemains!

part 1
part 2

Today I'll show you a really cool effect sound that doesn't require any automated modulation or predrawn envelopes. We're going to adjust some switches in the Operator tool and we'll be left with this sound:
(I'm holding one key)

If you have difficulties finding anything, or u're not sure about what u're doing, please check out the previous parts, and/or my other tutorial series, "easy transition effects" part 1 , part 2, where I've already explained the functions of most of the modulations that we'll be using.

So to get things ready, like many times before, set a track for the Operator tool, and change the waveformat of OscA and OscB
to a SquareD and a SawD. Then add some volume on OscB, and for a higher pitch, I set the coarse switch to about 25.

Now let's turn on the Pitch envelope section, and set the Pitch env. amount all the way up to 100%, u may also add a little spread and transpose it to anywhere you want, experimentation is the key, I can't say it enough.

An other important thing to do is setting a long decay and sustain for this effect. You can do this by pushing the envelope down and extend its curve at the envelope section, or you can just type in the amounts. For decay it's about 40s and for the sustain it's -42st.

The last important step is turning the LFO on and adjusting the LFOrate all the way up to 127.
You can also experiment with setting different types of waveformat for the LFO tab, changing the amount, filtering out some of the high frequencies etc... explore the possibilities!

The last thing that u might want to do is changing the algorithm of the way in which OscA and OscB modulate each other.
An oscillator can modulate other oscillators or be modulated by oscillators or both. The algorithm defines the connection between Oscs, therefore has a significant impact on the sound that is created.

That's it! everything is ready, u don't have to automate any effects, you have the sound as u heard it above. Explore its capabilities!
