Magical Monday is here to help YOU!
Today's Agenda- How to write a quality post
Magical Monday is all about giving back to the community. Today is a special day because this is my #newbieresteemday! That means I will spend time today searching for quality post that newbies have written and resteem them. Today 2 special newbies will also be featured in this post as well as one awesome experienced Steemian.
I am a newbie, how do I get the chance to be featured?
The only thing that you have to do is continue being the amazing person that you are. I will watch newbies throughout the entire week and choose three newbies that have consistently written quailty post. The point of this is to give newbies motivation to continue moving forward on Steemit even when it feels like noone is watching. I want this to hopefully encourage new users to keep on keeping on. Even if your post are not yet gaining the attention that they deserve, you will always have people routing for you and wanting to see you succeed.
I'm not a newbie but what to know how I can have the chance to be featured as the Steemian of the week?
What does it mean to write a quality post?
Writing a quality post can be time consuming and energy draining. However, you will drastically increase your chances of becoming a Steemit celebrity.
Pros of writing quality post -
- increase on Upvotes
- better interaction from the community
- higher payouts
- more followers
- rise in stats
The pros far outweigh the cons here. You will have a higher chance at getting a curie and people will want to come back for more and more. As @dolphinschool always says, it is easier to sell to a repeat customer. That statement is so true when it comes Steemit. A quality post doesn't always mean that it is a super long post. There are a ton of factors that determine if the post is low or high quality. First, watch your formatting. This can really liven up your post and add that extra umph to it. Add pictures and gifs to break up your writing. Use headers, bold and italic whenever needed. If you don't know how to do any of this, I will start teaching this next Monday. We also teach this over at @greetersguild.
Be sure that you always source where your images came from and any text that you received from the internet.
If you are writing a shorter post it is easy to change it from lower quality to higher. Let's take posting pictures for example. Instead of posting nothing but a single picture, add some words to it. It really is that simple. If you post a picture of your dog, tell us about the dog. What their name is, the breed, the dogs favorite toy, really anything at all other than just a picture will help you receive those pros that I listed. If you write about recipes, add pictures to your post of the progress you make as you bake/cook. Tell us a little story in between the pictures and finally at the end, add your recipe. If the recipe is from the internet, please remember to source where the recipe came from.
If you want to post a picture of the sunset, be creative with it. Go find a quote that talks about the beauty in life (be sure to add who wrote the quote. If it is unknown you can write -unknown after the quote) Tells us where you were when you took the picture, add 2-3 paragraphs that include a short story about you finding the beauty in small things. Just be creative with it, make it your own masterpiece.
We sometimes underestimate the influence of the little things. -Charles W. Chestnutt
There are a few times when posting just a picture with very few words is acceptable and I've seen that with contest a lot. Some people also get away with writing post that are strictly to the point without much else going on and they are amazing post. If it works, don't try to fix it. If you choose to write a post without much formatting be sure that what you have written in the post is enough to keep the attention of the reader. @saltnpapper is a great example of that and someone very worthy to interact with.
Just remember with every post that you write here, quality is far greater than quantity. There are always ways to spice up your post if need be. Be creative, have fun and you will be writing quality post in no time!

Steemian Of The Week
@briancourteau
This man and his wife have the most incredible, beautiful love story. They are both such extremely strong people and Brian will really teach you what is important in life just through reading what he writes. I haven't found one thing written by him that isn't worth your time and won't pull at your heart-strings. He writes to his wife a lot and she writes post in response to his. It is something that will stay with @lynncoyle1 forever and @briancourteau wants nothing more than to share his love for her to the world and to be sure that she will be okay...
Here is a sample from one of his poems called As I fight Illness I look in the Mirror
As I look in this mirror I see death and I see life
The cancer hurts me and cuts me like a knife
I smile with you my love because your my wife
This next post is past payout but it shows you the true feelings of what life is like as they try to cope with life- The Fight with Cancers changes a person

Important Information- Tomorrow is Contest Tuesday. Leave any links to your active contest or a contest that you enjoy and I will feature it in my contest post tomorrow. Contest Tuesday is for @greetersguild which I will discuss more about in that post. This is my way to help newbies have an easier way to engage with the community while having fun doing so. This is also to help those established Steemians gain more exposure. As you will quickly find, I like to give back to the entire community.
