Really helps get the creative energies flowing.

This here is my entry to Week 5 of the Poetry Dice competition.
The Dice Roll image is below, for reference.

Hero's Cape

The crescent moon shines ever so bright,
over this crime riddled city's long night.

Our hero is mighty, but waking him's a hurdle,
he stays up all night feeding his mutant turtle.

Tonight's crime has our hero on a thin wire,
as he races to extinguish a monster high-rise fire.

These pyromaniacs really make our hero sad
it's more than property lost that makes the citizens mad.

The fire was quickly quenched, the criminals escaped,
just another reason for our hero to remain caped.

The mask is necessary, a hero's famed right,
to pierce like an arrow, all that conspires in the night.

Like a storm without a rainbow, light with no glow,
keeping peace in this torn city is harder than we could ever know.

The city is safe for now, it's time to head home to bed,
Our hero will rest soundly tonight knowing his turtle is fed.
