+1 Point on the 'Humans are Good' side

Greetings Steemit,

In a World that sometimes seems to have gone mad - I've discovered that I really like to watch positive & uplifting videos. I've also discovered that I really like to share the better finds with other people - in an attempt to maximize their contagiously uplifting effect.

Continuing an experiment I've dabbled with on other social media sites, I'm going to start listing some of my favorites here on Steemit. After coming to know members of this community over these past several months, I hope that you enjoy.

So here's a submission in an ongoing series that I like to call:

+1 Point on the 'Humans are Good' side

~Saying Hello & Goodbye to close furry friends~

I've recently been thinking about pets & the concept of pet ownership quite a bit. Its kinda one of those subjects that I've not really delved into for many years, mostly due to the loss of a few pets in my past. Specifically two dogs I've known within the past 10 years time space had been considered 'my daughters' - One passed away via being hit by a vehicle, the other left with an ExGf and was never seen again. I was unable to say goodbye in either case.

Both experiences still offer insight & wisdom to be found when reflected upon - but only when I can maintain a center through the pain of losing them. In this model - I've been weary of taking on another canine companion... until Miss Mera decided to visit.

Now that the visiting Doge time is near completion and the pet deposit has been paid, I'm considering the next step. Suffice it to say that there are both 'upvotes' and 'flags' when it comes to pet ownership.. so I'm gonna wait a few weeks and see how my home feels without a pup afoot. As the dust settles I suppose the answer will become apparent in one way or another.

So as all of these thoughts have been floating around my mind recently - I proclaim "SYNCHRONICITY" as I've recently stumbled upon this video online. I've seen other submissions similar in concept & character - however there is something about THIS little girls reaction that.. really.. just hit home for me.

The site I originally found it on (i just saved the YT link) had the backstory explaining that the little girl had lost a close friend, a black cat, some time prior - and this was Mom & Dad deciding it was finally time to adopt a new cat.. a black kitten. This little girls reaction - to me - is an apparent blend of overwhelming happiness - and at the same time I feel like there is some grief in her cries of joy, as if she also misses her lost friend in the happy moment.

This is what raw Humanity looks like. In some sense based on the same 'new vs lost pet' trigger - I can say boldly that I know exactly how she feels.

I DARE YOU not to smile while watching this video.

So lets give Mom & Dad a Gold Medal in "Kick Ass Parenting" as we merrily add:
