Social Tips to Remember:
1. Emphasizing on question.
Ask questions about the person you are talking to. This shows you are interested in this person and you are boosting there ego, giving them the feeling of importance.
2. Details, be specific!
The more specific you are, the more interest is created by a much better visual being created. Also this will trigger an increase feelings and emotions as the details open up the story.
3. Make it emotional.
The more emotional you can make the conversation, the more engaged anyone will be. We as humans are moved most by emotions rather than data.
4. Frame your own world.
Pretend everything you see is in your own picture frame. When anyone enters your frame, you must engage! When you can notice or see anyone in your own frame, they can see you also and take note. They are waiting to see if you might say something or approach them. This makes it so much easier to start conversations. Remember this is your world, you create it and anyone in your frame is apart of your journey. Do not be frighten.
5. Make people feel comfortable.
Be aware of how others are feeling and adjust to your approach. You should over time see when others have a hard time communicating, being up front or bold, and many others. Know what type of person you are dealing with and pivot.
6. Talk about your insecurities.
What you are most afraid of talking about is exactly what you should bring up when you can. This shows vulnerability and let's people know you are not perfect. This gives them confidence that they can trust you.
7. Tone.
Your tone will give off the impression of what type of mood you are in, what state of mind your in life, and influence the conversation if applied correctly for the given environment.
8. OWN IT!
This is a game changer! When you are confident and own what you are doing, doesn't matter if you think it's uncomfortable or weird... When you own what you are doing, people see that confidence and believe what you are doing or saying. Relates similar to tip #7.
9. Break there guard down.
Open people up. When you see they are holding something back, not giving you the full story or attention.. Press them a bit with questions to open up the dialogue. Be a leader and show that you will not judge them.
10. Always show respect.
This is a great habit to have in general and of course will help build your relationships up more when you are giving complete respect to everyone no matter what.
BONUS TIPS:
Be a leader. When you take charge and do what is right in a social situation, that does not go unnoticed, people appreciate and envy that. When they see you take charge for the right thing, they follow as you have opened the door for them to follow. That is what leadership is all about. Not everyone is brave enough just yet. Even in the simplest circumstances.
Review your encounters with yourself and other people as much as possible. Get use to going over all the details and then explaining it in a story. This helps you improve greatly by noticing more of what your doing and becoming a better story teller which is highly important for communicating.
I love all these tips and hope you do too!! Each one has helped me improve my social skills dramatically!!
