❓Answering Common Questions: Where can I get Steemit Help? Have you tried the Minnow Support Project? 💁

I've tried, read guides...but I still feel like I'm missing something! Who can I turn to?

Every Steemit veteran can attest to the learning curve new users face here. This can range from things like formatting, tags or topics to marketing yourself and building relationships. Of course, we also know we're all looking to get more votes.

In the past, there had been people and projects that devoted their time to onboarding new people and helping out users who were working hard yet still struggling. Unfortunately, over time many of these faded away due to limitations on time as we have all picked up more projects here on Steemit or in life in general.

Luckily there has been a new project started specifically to help out with these 'ramping up' issues: Minnow Support Project!

This project had been headed up by @aggroed, with the extremely important backing for something like this from @ausbitbank, @canadian.coconut, @someguy123, @theprophet0, and @teamsteem! (Many of these are Witnesses, if you've been curious what sort of projects they've been supporting.)

Q: How does #MinnowSupport help me?

Steemit can be a daunting place when you first start. #MinnowSupport helps to ease your entry into our community by answering questions on how things work here, getting you in touch with other users, getting more eyes on your post and even a periodic vote from their curators and curation account.

The Minnow Support Project is the number one community on Steemit to incorporate training, support, and curation in order to facilitate life cycle growth on the platform from Minnowhood to Whalehood and to continue paying it forward as new members join.
-Minnow Support Project Mission Statement

You also can get YOUR CONTENT UPVOTED with their voting bot, once you've completed your registration. However there is an (understandable) limit on this. (Instructions for this are below.)

While extremely helpful, this won't make you rich overnight. This group is there support you while "Teaching you to fish" and not simply give you all the fish. It's way more beneficial to go there with the mindset of learning and building relationships versus expecting instantly high payouts.

It is important to note that there is NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EFFORT! Everything you achieve here is Steemit is based off of what YOU do! So don't expect to simply put "Lipstick on a Pig" and expect to instantly get huge payouts. Up to some point content is still king, but getting people to know, like and want to support you can easily be the "queen".

Q: How can I join the #MinnowSupport Project? Are there any requirements?

The few rules they have seen quite reasonable and have their uses. These include:

  • Be kind, friendly and willing to help people. Being an Schmuck doesn't tend to get you far on Steemit. This doesn't mean you can't speak your mind, but you may have to refine how you present yourself.

In the Peace, Abundance and Love Network, you'll find over 2500 Steemit users who are either new, looking to improve and/or there to help others. It's a fantastic place for you to drop in and get to know others, ask questions, pick up tips, etc! To join simply click THIS LINK:

https://discord.gg/SKve9tZ

You'll also want to register your Steemit account there:

Bot registration: Use the command, $register username, to register with banjo and minnowsupport. Send the 0.001 steem to both accounts. Type the, $register username, command again and you now have the ability to upvote content on behalf of the community with the, $upvote POSTURL, command. Again, a fast way to get kicked is to upvote shit content.
-MSP Announcement Post

In case you're new to using Discord, you'll need to first create your username at https://discordapp.com/register . Also, here is a short introduction video to show you around the application a little bit:

  • Register with a curation program (i.e. automated voting bot)

Membership also includes registering your account with 2 powerful steem curation tools.

Steemvoter is a program that automatically upvotes authors you support. You must have Steemvoter setup with a rule supporting @minnowsupport

Streemian is a program that automatically votes on a post after the curator you choose has upvoted a post. In this case we'll all use Streemian to follow @minnowsupport 's curation trail found here: https://streemian.com/profile/curationtrail/trailing/416

Lastly, you have to follow @minnowbot to ensure you receive community updates.

Q: Where can I find #MinnowSupport?

There are other ways to find the Minnow Support project...it just depends what exactly you are looking for. These include:

  • MSP on Steemit.Chat
This channel is another place allowing you to promote your posts to other Steemians.

  • #MinnowSupport Tag
Many people don't always think of the power of a tag. Including the #MinnowSupport can help you to find work of others in the group as well as helping to get yours seen.

Q: I'm needing a little more help with my posts with things like formatting, snappy titles, readabillity, or similar feedback. Do they have anything to help me?

Check out their MSP-Workshop Channel HERE: https://discord.gg/SKve9tZ

The project is being headed up by @r0nd0n with others who have already come on board to help out! It includes Steemit users willing to take time out of their day to help others on a more one-on-one basis to get you some more specific, concrete suggestions or feedback. It's recently rebranded from being the peer-review channel, so if you've wondered where that group went..it just changed names.

So if you've been looking for a bit of direct mentoring, make sure to check this place out. You can get some great resources and find more on what they offer in their Announcement Post Here:

This deserves a more full on post to get into the details, so keep an eye out for that.

In Conclusion: If you're new, you should definitely check out the Minnow Support Project! by clicking HERE:
