Though I have no background in either social networks or cryptocurrencies, I'm now going full throttle on steemit. My introduction post was two weeks ago. The upvotes and blogging rewards have been enjoyable, but there's something else that reaches deeper that the steemit community is offering. Here's a sampling of some things that have happened.
SEED GIVEAWAYS
@robrigo , @jed78 , @pixellated and @cryptoiskey have all been sent free garden seeds from my giveaways of Chinese Red Noodle Bean and the Kiwano. @cryptoiskey even posted this, which blew my mind.
Now, @jed78 has posted this and blew what was left of my mind.
PHOTOGRAPHY
THERE IS NO FORK
I've entered a few of the photo contests with pictures like this, and got an honorable mention and 10 STEEM just for trying. @pfunk was on the guest panel of judges for the steemitphotochallenge #2 and said, "papa-pepper gets #1 from me because he used a shadow very creatively in this photograph. The picture quality isn't top but that's ok, the thought and creativity behind it puts this on the top for me... You may not know it but you are an artist papa-pepper" and even replied to the post by @cryptoiskey by saying, "I hope he enters another photo challenge, for his concept alone he was my top pick".

INSPIRING OTHERS
I've been growing a lot of food and sharing about that, and it seems all sorts of people who don't grow their own food are now thinking about it. Check out these replies:

It's been nice to get noticed, and to have a reason to put my ideas out there. To have real incentive to work hard on projects and share them with the world, and to be encouraged to get creative.
BLESSING THOSE WHO'VE BLESSED
Having my posts on Is STEEMIT the Excuse We've all Been Waiting For? and Another Step Forward for the Steemit Community - YOUR REPUTATION get noticed by and upvoted by @dantheman is rewarding in itself. To be able to be blessed by something that he helped create is great, but being able to have him appreciate the effort that I am putting into making STEEMIT a success, is also rewarding.
A lot of you have upvoted my posts, and a lot of you have commented. I thank you all for the encouragement and support, and am glad that I have the opportunity to be involved in this community. Unfortunately I may not have a lot of time to see what you are all up to, but thanks for checking out my posts anyways.
I'll probably share more about it later, but STEEMIT has accomplished what no other online opportunity was ever to do, it got me to be a part of it.
In closing, thank you everyone for joining steemit and doing your best. It's growing and developing, and something truly special is happening here. If you're struggling on steemit, hang in there. Don't give up, you'll be missing out.
