Shinobazu Pond - Ueno Park (1) |

I stayed at a hotel right next to Ueno Park in my trip to Tokyo, which was the first time I stayed there. My room had a nice view of the Shinobazu Pond of the park.

The last time I visited Ueno Park was 4 years ago with my family during Sakura blossom time, so I decided to have a walk in the park before I left Japan. At the morning of my last day of that trip, I checked out early, left my stuffs in the hotel and then went straight to Ueno Park. In just 2 minutes time, I was at the gate of Ueno Zoo. Since it was too early in the morning, the zoo was not yet opened. That's OK as my target was not the zoo anyway.

I then went through the Benten Gate to the Benten Hall. Benten Hall is the Shrine located in the middle of Shinobazu Pond.

At left hand size of the hall were a budda statue and the name stone of Shinobazu Pond.

Just like other temples or shrines in Japan, people need to clean themselves at Omizusha.

There is also Jokoro(Incense Burner) in front of the hall.

After cleaning myself, I worshipped at the hall. Then I went through the exit at right side of the hall, where all the Emas were hung, and continues my walk at the Pond.
