Once upon a time there was a man called Otto Christoph Joseph Gerhardt Ludwig Overbeck.
This long-named gentleman was an artist, a linguist and an inventor. He was the last living, private owner of Overbeck House - an impressive, old Edwardian building overlooking the cliffs of Salcombe in the UK.
He was either a genius, or completely bonkers.
We'll probably never know.
This is a painting of him staring suspiciously at a magnolia:
Amongst his many inventions is the "Overbeck Rejuvenator", an electrical device that turns back the very hands of time, defies ageing and restores your youthful looks and vitality (apparently).
Here it is:
And here (wonder of wonders) is an old paper showing what Otto looked like before and after applying his rejuvenating treatments to himself!
Overbeck himself became very rich thanks to sales of the rejuvenator in the early 20th century.
Who knows, perhaps your everyday John or Jane that you see walking around today is in fact over 100 years old and in possession of one of these rejuvenators... hey, it's possible!
Now, outside, within the extensive lands of Overbeck House is a secret garden.
Shhhhhhhh....
There are twisty turny, maze-like paths to explore
And lush flowers and plants everywhere
There are doors that look like this
And little nooks, crannies and doorways leading to all kinds of treasures (I didn't find any but I'm sure they're there)
Finally when you think you've just about seen everything, and your little mind has been blown, you come to one particular dead end.
And find yourself looking at a crazy ass tree situation
Alrighty, I hope you enjoyed this. I'm off to find a rejuvenator get a cup of coffee. :)
