Travel Diaries - Peaceful Border of Jordan and Palestine and Baptism site of Jesus Christ

This place what I am sharing today is the Baptism site of Jesus Christ. It's a very unique and fascinating place.

Why I say so?

One because of the rich history that it holds and the other is the fascinating border which crosses here between Jordan and Palestine.

Border area of two countries are always projected as tense areas. When you think of a border area, you will always imagine some military presence. In my own country I have always heard about how stressful these areas are and in such times when you come across this type of place where there is so much peace and calmness it sounds to be quite unbelievable. Before entering Bethany yes there was a security outpost which had checking.
Well there will be many more such places but not that I am aware of.

Baptism site of Jesus Christ at Bethany is around an hour drive from Amman city in Jordan, Its quite and experience to witness a place where Jesus Christ was baptized by St John The Baptist. Whether you visit this place for religious purpose or just as a tourist, this place will enchant you with its deep rooted history. It is good to have a tour guide here, else you will not be able to relate to any of the the structures.

Here you see the John Baptist Church, The Mantle Chapel and the Unique “Baptismal Pool”, The Jordan-Palestine Border

The place where Jesus Christ was Batized

I will admit this is one of the best place I have seen till date. This is the Jordan and Palestine border, divided by a small river. No army, security or any kind of guarding. People at both the sides are enjoying at the river. So blissful.

If you come all the way to this place then the other attraction to be not missed is the Dead Sea. I always wanted to visit the dead sea, but when I saw the place it was quite a disappointment, the beach was very dirty with lot of garbage all around the place. The place could be maintained in a much better manner, knowing it's such a huge attraction.

Jordan is a very beautiful country to visit, if you get an opportunity to visit this place, do not miss it.
Thank you😇
