1. Vote Counts
The following SQL query has been used to extract this data:
Total number of votes given in the past 7 days: 1968. This is 32% increase over the previous week in which their were 1492 votes cast.
Daily average: 281 (213 for the previous week)
Total number of votes given in the past 30 days: 5582
Daily average: 186
Total number of votes given since 28th September (90 days) : 8196
Daily average: 90
As we can see, @utopian-io has increased its daily number of votes steadily over the past 3 months, with the sharpest rise coming over the last 3 weeks.
The 7 day average vote count rose again this week with 476 more votes being cast than in the previous week. This a 32% rise in votes, and brings the percentage increase to over 100% in the last two weeks alone.
This is another large increase in votes for a single week, and it is therefore likely that the vote weight percentages assigned to each category have been dropped accordingly...
2. Votes and Reputation
The vote count is on the vertical axis, and the reputation range on the horizontal axis.
Votes across Reputation over the past 7 days
To extract this data, the following SQL query has been used:
Note the calculation to refine the user reputation, and the joining of the 'Accounts' table and 'TxVotes' table.
The average reputation here is 55.0 (56.3 last week)
Votes across Reputation over the past 30 days
The average reputation here is 57.1 (58.0 previously)
Votes across Reputation since 28th September (first vote)
The average reputation here is 57.9 (58.4 previously)
For the first few months of the utopian-io project, the average reputation of the contributors rose each week. Presumably, this was due to the contributors being lifted by the utopian-io vote as they submitted contributions each week.
This however, is the 2nd week in a row in which the average Reputation of a utopian-io contributor has fallen.
I am inclined to think that there are two reasons for this:
The original contributors reputations have 'leveled off' (as it is tougher to gain reputation the higher up you go).
And, the 100% increase in contributions over the past 2 weeks is mainly due to a wealth of new contributions submitting to utopian-io.
A recent analysis of popular 'tags' I produced showed a sharp increase in 'nigeria' being used as a tag, and this could be part of the puzzle.
3. Vote Weight and Reputation
The vote weight is on the vertical axis, and the reputation range on the horizontal axis.
Weight (Strength) of votes cast across reputation over the past 7 days
To extract this data, the following SQL query has been used:
As we can see, the vote weight is now being calculated to the 100th of a Percent. e.g. 2.37%
The most popular weight of vote over the past week has been in the range of 2 - 4%, and that the most common contributor reputation is in the 50-60 range.
Weight (Strength) of votes cast across Reputation over the past 30 days
This during this data range, a 100% vote was awarded by accident - this vote has been removed from the charts and analysis below.
In the 30 day chart, we can see some of the votes in the past of 20% and above, including a single vote at 35% for a user with reputation 66.
Also in the 30 day chart, their are votes for reputation 70 and above which are not present in the 7 day graph.
Weight (Strength) of votes cast across Reputation since 28th September (first vote)
This chart, with data from project inception date, provides a look back at how popular 100% votes were from utopian-io in the first month or so of the project.
4. Analysis and Summary
The number of average daily votes has risen sharply again over the past 7 days. This has had a knock on effect to the weight of vote given by @utopian-io for the contributions made, and we are now looking at vote percentages calculated to 2 decimal places.
The positive side is that the price of Steem has risen and held a price of over $2 for two weeks now, almost negating a the drop in vote weight percentages. Indeed, a 100% up-vote from utopian-io is now be worth close to $1000!
The average reputation of a post owner voted on is 57.9 across the lifetime of voting but averages at 55.0 in the past week.
This shows a continuing trend from the last analysis of the data, whereby there is a constant influx of new authors for @utopian-io, who are looking to contribute and build their reputation here.
Vote weight has sensibly be adjusted in line with the increasing amount of contributions submitted and has had good fortune perhaps with the rising price of Steem.
The most popular vote weight percentages this past week are between 2% and 4%.
The maximum vote weight in the past 7 days was 11%, down from 14% last week, and 20% two weeks ago.
5 contributors received the maximum vote of 10.77% this week.
This is the first week since the inception of the project, that the vote weight has not surpassed 11%.
Overall, I think @utopian-io are using their Steem Power delegation appropriately.
And at this point in time, the future looks bright for utopian-io.
