Bible Verse of the Day #15; To Be Saved

Hello Friends,
Today, we will be talking about what we must do to be save. Most of us know the answer to this question already but we can still remind ourselves. I will be using Paul and Silas scenario as an example. They both were locked in the prison but they did not give up. Then, they start to praise God and God sent His angel to deliver them. They were set free and the door of the prison opened for them. When the guard woke up not finding them in the prison, He almost killed himself but Paul and Silas revealed themselves to Him and he was marveled at what had happened. This was what made the guard of the prison to ask this question “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

Acts 16:29-32

29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

This is the most important question one can ask. The response is, "Believe in the Lord Jesus"
(1) To believe in the Lord Jesus means more than believing certain truths about Him in your mind or intellect. It is an active faith by which people recognize and accept Jesus both Saviour and Lord-the Forgiver of their sins and Leader of their lives. True Biblical belief and saving faith involve acknowledging who Christ is-the Son of God sent by the Father-and that all He said is true, meaningful to life and accepted as the final authority for living. Saving faith accepts what Jesus has done to provide forgiveness for one's offenses against God, and then surrenders and yields the leadership of one's life to Christ.

(2) When a person shows this kind of faith in Christ, he or she becomes a child of God (John 1:12; Roman 8:16), enters a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and receives the Holy Spirit as a constant help, guide and comfort (John 14:15-17; Roman 8:9; 1Corinthian 6:19). The Spirit will continually draw the person's attention to Jesus (John 16:14) and bring him or her into a closer relationship with Jesus. The Spirit also assures the Christian of his or her future with God and a place in His eternal presence.

So this is what we need to be saved from sin and death. Invite Jesus into your life today and your life will never remain the same.

Thanks for reading.
God bless you.
Shalom.
