Hi, my favorite Steemians! Orthodox Easter has come. Christ is risen!

According to tradition, this day we will begin with a festive Breakfast. Colorful painted eggs and sweet cakes are waiting for us on the table. On Friday begin to prepare this meal, then cakes and eggs carry to Church to light them. With this festive Church treat we will mark the end of Lent.

We treat all our friends and neighbors with eggs and cakes. On this day in my country the doors of every house are open. You can go into any house, give its inhabitants an egg and say " Christ is Risen!"In response, you will hear"he is Risen Indeed!"and the owner of the house will treat you with his cakes and eggs.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It is warmed by the spring sun and filled with good and pure thoughts. The friendliness and smiles of the people around me. Quiet family dinner with a pleasant conversation. And the day before we had so much fun when the whole family was engaged in painting and decorating eggs! It is really a joyous occasion, bringing together the hearts of the people.

And of course the special attention is deserved Easter cakes! It is incredibly tasty, tender and sweet pastries. Every housewife bakes them by his recipe. Their decorate, displaying out a fantasy. I want to tell you my recipe, which I think is perfect. For several years I bake my Easter cakes according to this recipe, and I like the result very much. Cakes always turn out perfect, airy and tasty.

Ingredients for the dough:


  • 400 gr flour,
  • 250 gr sugar,
  • 75 ml milk,
  • 20 g yeast,
  • 3 piece eggs,
  • 100 g butter,
  • 10 g vanillin,
  • 100 g candied fruit,
  • a pinch of salt.

The preparation of Easter cakes:


1. First you need to prepare dough sponge. To do this, mix half the flour, half the sugar and milk. Leave the dough for 3-4 hours, she will grow up.
2. Melt the butter over low heat.
3. Whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar.
4. Add the oil and beaten egg yolks to the dough.
5. Whisk egg whites into a firm foam.
6. Carefully enter the proteins in the dough.
7. Add in dough the remnants of flour.
8. Leave the dough in a warm place for 2 hours to fit.
9.Add candied fruits to the dough.
10. Spread the dough over baking molds (I use paper molds).
11. After 15-20 minutes, send cakes in the oven at 180 degrees.
12. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
13. Ready to decorate cupcakes with icing. Sprinkle the cupcakes with coconut flakes and confetti.

For making white icing you will need:

1. Egg whites 2 pieces.
2. Water 70 ml.
3. Sugar 150 gr.
4. lemon juice 50 ml.

1.Use the mixer to beat egg whites.
2. Heat the water with sugar and lemon juice to make it thick.
3. Pour sugar syrup into egg whites.
4.Whisk until stable foam is formed.

Fragrant butter cakes for the Easter holiday ready. Now you can consecrate them in the Church and eat at a festive Breakfast or treat your friends. Bon appetit and Christ is Risen!
