Vegan & Gluten Free Falafel Wrap | Vegane Falafeln

You want to make falafel wraps but the healthy way? This recipe is vegan and oil free! There is no need for frying or bread. Enjoy 💚

Prep time: 30 min
Portions: 25-30 falafel balls

Ingredients

 
Falafel balls

  • ca. 80 g walnuts
  • ca. 500 g cooked chickpeas
  • ½ grob onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp juice of a lemon
  • 30 g fresh parsley
  • 30 g fresh cilantro

Tahini Dressing

  • 100 g tahini
  • 60 ml of water
  • 3 tbsp Zitronensaft
  • 1 gepresste Knoblauchzehe
  • pinch of salt

Wrap und filling

  • For the gluten free wraps you'll need some nice chinese cabbage leaves.
  • With the filling you can be creative infinitely. I love to use grated carrots, mint leaves and diced tomatoes.

Instructions

 
Falafel balls:

  • Shred the walnuts in a food processor.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and blend into a dough.
  • Lay out a baking tray with baking parchment.
  • Form 25-30 little balls, put them on the tray and flatten them with a spoon.
  • Bake for around 20 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius. Turn them after half of the time.

Tahini Dressing:

  • Put all the ingredients into a little bowl and stir into a creamy dressing.

Wraps:

  • Wash the cabbage leaves and put some dressing on top.
  • Add 2-3 falafel balls and some filling and roll into a wrap. Close it with a toothpick if necessary.
