You want to make falafel wraps but the healthy way? This recipe is vegan and oil free! There is no need for frying or bread. Enjoy 💚
Prep time: 30 min
Portions: 25-30 falafel balls
Ingredients
Falafel balls
- ca. 80 g walnuts
- ca. 500 g cooked chickpeas
- ½ grob onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp juice of a lemon
- 30 g fresh parsley
- 30 g fresh cilantro
Tahini Dressing
- 100 g tahini
- 60 ml of water
- 3 tbsp Zitronensaft
- 1 gepresste Knoblauchzehe
- pinch of salt
Wrap und filling
- For the gluten free wraps you'll need some nice chinese cabbage leaves.
- With the filling you can be creative infinitely. I love to use grated carrots, mint leaves and diced tomatoes.
Instructions
Falafel balls:
- Shred the walnuts in a food processor.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend into a dough.
- Lay out a baking tray with baking parchment.
- Form 25-30 little balls, put them on the tray and flatten them with a spoon.
- Bake for around 20 minutes at 190 degrees Celsius. Turn them after half of the time.
Tahini Dressing:
- Put all the ingredients into a little bowl and stir into a creamy dressing.
Wraps:
- Wash the cabbage leaves and put some dressing on top.
- Add 2-3 falafel balls and some filling and roll into a wrap. Close it with a toothpick if necessary.
