5 min Writing Prompt "Spa" and "Snake" #freewrite serial story ACT TWO Chapter Seven

He has a name. The Abbot named him. Sebastian.

"My name is Sebastian..." he whispers.

"Sure, why not?" The Abbot takes another drink of wine and belches lightly.

And now Sebastian first becomes more keenly aware of his surroundings; the bristling stalks of wheat that surrounds their table, the mist rising from the wheat like a fumigating steam in an open air spa, and the heavy presence of the Living Church that surrounds all of this, as brooding silent walls of immense stone creating the courtyard in which they are sitting.

And now Sebastian notices something at his feet. A snake, moving silently through the stalks of wheat, heading towards an opening in the walls.

He rises to his feet and turns to the Abbot. "Thank you for your help. I have to go now..." And then he sets off, in pursuit of the snake as it slithers through the opening into the darkness of the Living Church.

The Abbot watches him as he goes. "Safe journeys, Kyler..." he slurs, before pouring himself another cup.
