Want to grow your Steemit community? Get on Discord!

I've spent the last three months or so checking out Discord servers. They are hubs for community connection. I've met many fantastic Steemians through my participation in these groups. In the last few weeks, I've worked to take my participation to the next level. I want to tell you about three of these servers; the ones I spend the most time in.

Die Hard Steemit

Die Hard Steemit is the newest of the three. It is founded by @aschatria, features a commenting pod, several link share categories, a crypto specialist and an amazing group of individuals who are eager to support one another's work or just chat in the coffee lounge. I really love the relaxed atmosphere of the group. What I am most impressed by is how hard @aschatria works to benefit this community while building it.

If you ever pop into this group, stop over in the "blockbuster" channel. I'm a server counselor. That channel is where anyone can bring blocks, troubleshoot their art, or find inspiration. I'm excited to be able to volunteer my coaching services in the group and do so because I believe in it.

TeamGirlPowa

This server is dedicated to supporting education and equality for women (and, yes, men are welcome if they uphold the ideals of the space). It was founded by @limabeing with @thekittygirl as admin. This is a place for deep conversation and social change.

I am honored to be trusted in this group that supports education and equality with a moderator role for the mental health channel. There, I periodically host a "safe space" where group members can check in and unload. The only requirements are compassion for ourselves and others in how we speak. So far several individuals have shared pieces of their journeys and received support not just from me, but from other members of the community. It's beautiful to have a space dedicated to vulnerability. I have been hosting a similar space on Facebook for two years now. It feels wonderful to share that space in a group dedicated to raising each other up.

Steemit Bloggers

Steemit Bloggers was founded by @jaynie. This server is more than a like/upvote exchange. While that does happen, members are required to comment as well, and community interaction is encouraged. Steemit Bloggers is backed by @appreciator who gives three 5SBD votes per day for best posts in any category. This group is regularly vetted for inaction and tightly moderated.

I don't have a role in Steemit Bloggers, but I like to hang out there. In fact, that group is what inspired my 5SBD for best comment weekly challenge. It's a way to give back not just to my fellow SB community members, but to Steemit as a whole.

Steemit Bloggers is not currently accepting new members.
