Please allow me to formally introduce my favorite guy in the world, Marek Rzeczkowski, my best friend, long time love and, more recently, my husband. He is also, as you can plainly see, a complete and utter goofball.
Here he is in true form, doing his best Cheech and Chong impression (with one of my white sage smudge sticks), which naturally I had to immortalize with my camera. This is, in fact, one of my favorite photos of him, and was taken in the living room of our previous home, in Largo, Florida.
It was funny, but when I was telling him about this photo last night, I had chosen not to put it on Steemit until speaking with him, but his immediate response was to put it on at once. My kind of guy.
And even funnier, at least to me, is that although "Up in Smoke" was hugely popular when I was in college in L.A., I never actually saw the film until we saw it together, in this same living room.
I was into bicycling, SCUBA diving and marathon reading at the time, and none of my friends were into it either, so it was just never my thing. Which seems to be hard for some people to grasp, that yes, I came of age in L.A. in the 70s, but I wasn't into drinking or drugs. It's almost beyond belief.
And the irony there is that in 1978, when the film was released, I was living in Venice Beach in the same neighborhood as Tommy Chong, and although I didn't really know him, I saw him around pretty frequently.
He was clearly a good guy, as my Newfoundland, Ebony, liked him, and he liked her. She was an unerring judge of character.
Marek is not very active on Steemit as yet, being on the road a lot, but he is @mareklo. ;-)
