Just last week I was in Hong Kong (again.) I had been there once before and that's a story I began to tell a long time ago... I seem to need to finish that story apparently but first thing is first since I've given the punchline away!

As some of you know, as much as I love traveling I am not a huge fan of flying so I am always resistant to go anywhere I have already been and have that extra airtime to stress about! ;)

However, I am not in control of EOS and they decided to put on their first hackathon there to celebrate their launch.

So being reined in by all the hype, I ended up in Hong Kong and in comes you!

I'm taking you along this journey so if you're ready, let's get rolling!

Let's EAT!

First stop (you know me) is a vegan snack! Where better to find vegetarian fare than a Buddhist restaurant? That's a huge travel trick that saves my belly!

Three Virtues was not too far from where I was staying in TST, and it had a restaurant upstairs that I had originally found on Google Maps but when I got to the building (in HK everything is inside buildings and usually requires escalators, elevators or stairs!) I saw the take out window and being super hungry from the travel, I just started ordering everything without flour, sugar or eggs/cheese/butter/milk (vegetarian sometimes can have dairy in it, so always ask!)

There were bean dumplings, taro patties, sweet potato cakes, spring rolls, mock meat (I didn't try any), steam buns, sesame rolls... I swear I had everything I could eat on that shelf!

I have to tell you though, I was standing outside of the building (because they don't have tables at the take out counter) in the rain, plowing through the entire bag of goodies out of excitement when I came to the ONE!

Bean curd stuffed with veggies.... oh... my... goodness... I ran back in for another before I had even begun to finish the rest of my bag... I am still just slobbering all over myself remembering that hitting my tastebuds... YUM!

Let's Shop!

So, now that the belly was sufficiently stuffed, the rain was being kind of a drag. Last time I was in the city it was rainy and cold but this time, in June it was warm rain so an umbrella kept everything in order! :)

The next part is a little bit funny because I never would have thought I'd wind up there... I ended up seeking shelter in a building that had really cool, stainless steel water bottles in the display window. As I was browsing, I ended up finding this!

Why am I showing you this? It's a mattress topper LINED WITH JADE STONES!
If you don't know about jade, first of all, it's not cheap (if it's real) and second of all, it's incredibly healing and has an abundance of spiritual properties so I have always wanted one since I had a treatment where the practitioner used it and it made me feel all gooey inside in the best way possible!

How much was that thing?
Too much for this chica. I had to tell the saleswoman that even the memory foam pillow adhered with gems, though beautiful and no doubt a good time... far too expensive for a traveler such as myself whose main expense and priority in life is FOOD! ;)

After clearly disappointing the woman who thought I was going to bring this thing on an airplane with me -_- I wandered around thinking... what am I doing right now? Laughing myself out the door, back to the rain.

Then something crazy happened!

With the rain in my face, walking through the densely populated street in Hong Kong a woman grabbed my arm quite tightly, pulling me over to her. I didn't let fear take me over. I took a deep breath and looked at her in the eyes. She began tenderly massaging my arm.

"You want massage? I give you good price!" 🤣

Well, I always like me a bargain so next thing you know we're winding down streets and into a small hole in the wall.

I first ask myself "Is this safe?" I'm breathing a bit heavily. Horror movies have done a number on my psyche.

I sat down in the Lazy Boy looking around nervously.

Then something jumped on to my lap! I froze. Staring into two big eyes.

The goober hits my face.

Would you like that with extra kisses?

Um yes please! 💓

(Did you know that animals can sense our emotions? I've always fancied myself as a dog whisperer because I think they can feel how much love I have for them in my heart!) :D
