There's Always A Next Time - Part 12

Samir was mad at him at first for manipulating him and making him rush to the park for no reason, but then he started to find the humor in what Ahmed did when he remembered that it was just a revenge for the several times when the same game was played but the roles were reversed.

The conversation was all about how couples should understand and forgive one another. Samir suggested a book named “men are from mars women are from venus” for them to understand the huge differences between women and men’s minds.

That time Lynda didn’t say anything about Ahmed walking home in the dark even though it was later than the night before. Ahmed thought his plan worked but Lynda’s fears were even stronger that time. She just felt that something is going to happen in that neighbourhood. She decided not to make Ahmed resent her for being too controlling even if it was out of concern, not after what Samir just taught her about how free men want to feel and what they consider a threat to their freedom.

Ten Years ago, that place was the ideal place to be. She had a very happy life there. Except for her last year when she had to be under the radar, keep hiding from police and have almost no friends other than Ahmed and Samir. She still can’t get how she managed to survive that year giving her social addict personality and her leader character.

But that wasn’t the reason why she hated her old neighbourhood. Her feeling was actually based on social statistic facts like the huge amount of unemployed young people, it’s share of drug smuggle, the rate of crimes especially robbery and rape…All these facts came back to her memory all together when she was on her way home in the taxi.

On his way home, Ahmed was so proud of his brilliant idea of bringing Lynda to the park and bringing Samir to show her that nothing changed. He was holding his phone and thinking of a good funny speech to start his phone call with Lynda when he saw a seventeen years old girl leaning on a wall and slowly falling down in a small dark street. By the time he got to her, she gave him a terrified look and then fell unconscious.

He took her to the hospital four blocks away, signed her in and waited for her to wake up. The doctor said there was nothing serious and she should wake up any minute by then. When the nurse came in to check on her, The girl opened her eyes slowly and once she saw Ahmed, she freaked out and tried to escape pointing at him and screaming "raper!".
