Hi Steemians! Today we are going to prepare a Strawberry Pie!
You will need:
½ kg Strawberries | 1 Teaspoonful Strawberry Gelatine |
---|---|
170 gr. Butter | 100 gr. Self-rising Flour |
200 gr. Sugar | 150 gr. All pourpuse Flour |
5 eggs | ½ litre Milk |
Lemon Zest | 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Essence |
3 Tablespoons Cornstarch |
Elaboration:
Dough:
Your butter should be at a certain temperature (about 25ºC or 77ºF) that makes it acquire an intermediate state between liquid and solid, the "ointment point". Mix your butter with the sugar and add the lemon zest.
Sift the flour and add it to the dough, then add one egg. Try not to overdo it with the kneading, to avoid spreading heat from your hands to the mass.
Cover with a film, so that your dough doesn´t dry up and leave in the fridge for about two hours.
Take it out the fridge and stretch it with a rolling pin until it is large enough to cover your mold (your mold must be greased). Prick the dough with a fork.
Cook in the oven at medium heat for fifteen minutes set aside.
Pastry Cream:
Mix four eggs with sugar, until the sugar dissolves. Add the cornstarch and the vanilla essence. Then add some milk.
Put in a pot at medium heat and add some butter. Wait one minute after it boils for the starch to thicken.
Put in a bowl and cover with a film, then leave in the fridge, until your cream is cold.
Place your cream over your pie base, then your strawberries.
Prepare some gelatin with boiling water, then cool with some ice and “paint” your pie with it.
