I tried to find some newer freewriters this week (and those with lower reputation scores to help them get a little more exposure. I want to thank everyone who participated in nominating their favorites at @freewritehouse and ask that you keep an eye out for future freewrite favorites to nominate!
@michaelluchies
This story had me right from the start and is SO worth the read! A new author (to me) that I haven't seen around the freewrite community before (although I've been out of it lately!) and this has all of the elements of a great story right up my alley, all in a very short 5 minute freewrite. I LOVED it! ~ @byn
@mylittleblurbs
This one, I suppose caught me and wrapped me in memories of living on the boat. So I suppose it caught my eye particularly for personal reasons, but it is really just a great flowing piece that is worth the read! ~ @byn
@ghostsinahatbox
A great read from a new (to me) freewriter. This is a great character study, capturing so much emotion and life in just a few short words. I'm always impressed when people can draw me in and make me feel for a character in such a short pice! Great writing! ~ @byn
@mr-neil
I would also like to nominate @mr-neil for his "The Superhero Exchange Company." The conversation with this company was imaginative and humorous, making it a fun read. ~ @whatisnew
@fadedhistory
I would like to nominate @fadedhistory for the story, "The Call." Victor's anxiety coupled with the chill in the room and what was happening at that time, not only sent chills up Victor's spine, but mine as well. It ended with suspense and left me wanting more. ~ @whatisnew
@elizacheng
When I read about this, I immediately love the freewrite as it has the recipe of food that I love too. It is called Bak Kut Teh (in my Hokkien dialect) means pork ribs cook in herbs. Eliza even wrote down the recipe. It makes me drooling with hunger just by reading her freewrite. ~ @iamjadeline
@msicc
This freewrite made me laugh as I do not have a green thumb myself and understand the struggle. Herbs are also very important to me and I know the desire to try to grow them on your own.
But I too, fail! The bugs, the overgrowth, the mildew, the stalks with no leaves! I have had it all, but still we keep trying. I also like the good use of the word "triggering." This happens to me with freewrite prompts too. ~ @fitnfun
@marcoriccardi
First, I have to that I've been looking forward to sharing this freewrite since I read it on Friday! But @marcoriccardi blew me away this morning when he recommended mine from the weekend, so I wanted everyone to know I feel like he beat me to the punch!
So, I stumbled upon this poem he wrote during my prompt deliveries on Friday. It's about adventure and love and dreaming and grabbing life. It was so beautiful I had my hubs (@freedompoint) read it. And of course he loved it too! One day I will frame it and hang it up on our home...or at the very least our bus walls! ~ @freedomtowrite
@happycrazycon
with an incredible story weaving Christianity and religion together with a good sense of humour in this freewrite, @happycrazycon did justice to the word skinny and also took time to rewrite the lesson in the story not just leaving the reader to laugh it off. ~ @botefarm
