In July 2016, I reached out to @heiditravels with an interview request. That marked the beginning of my "20 questions" interview series.
After that, I asked 20 questions to @katecloud, @manthostsakirid, @blockchaingirl, @piedpiper, @stellabelle, @budgetbucketlist, @allasyummyfood, @the-alien, @mrs.steemit, @andrarchy, @sirwinchester and @roelandp.
Then my focus shifted. Over the past year, I have put more of my energy into interviewing non-Steemian influencers. There were two reasons for this strategy. The first was to bring quality content to the Steemit platform. The second was strategic marketing. When these influencers shared the link to their interview via social media, tens (or sometimes hundreds) of thousands of their followers were being exposed to content on Steemit. In some cases, interviewees actually ended up creating Steemit accounts shortly after their 20 questions appeared on Steemit (such as @rogerkver and @dragosroua). In total, I have had the pleasure of asking 820 questions to 41 intriguing individuals.
I plan to still interview influencers outside of this platform; however, considering how important the theme of "community" is to Steemit this year, I think the time is right to re-focus some of my attention to the individuals who make this platform what it is. Some of those who I plan to interview are well-liked by pretty much every active Steemit user. Others aren't. But "20 Questions: The Steemian Series" will aim to shed light on the people behind the mysterious usernames and tell the stories of those who make Steemit what it is.
