The Medicinal Cooking Collective: The Heart / Fire Element - Recipe Collection #1

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TOOK PART!

As you can see below, we had a very red and hearty first week in this brand new Medicinal Cooking Collective Challenge! I am so pleased that so many of us took part, and you have all contributed some amazing dishes that not only look great and taste great, but are also very good for the Heart and the Fire element. The ingredient that really stood out is the beetroot. What an amazing vegetable beetroot is. We have used it in just about every way in this weeks round up of from you all!I have discovered some fermentation ideas and awesome juice ideas. I never saw pink flat-bread before, or a tomato sandwich for that matter!

I really hope you enjoy checking out these great recipe posts, and please be sure to let us know if you try any of them out!

Your Heart / Fire Element Dishes

Consuming food that is red in colour or bitter in taste is good for your heart, small intestine, and brain. Foods that fall into this category include carrots, tomato, sweet potato, strawberry, chili, red beans, red pepper, jujube, goji berry, dragon fruit, apple, beetroot, saffron, and anything else that is a shade of red. Other food types that are good for the heart include chocolate, raw garlic, olive oil, nuts, asparagus, spinach, artichoke, aubergine licorice, and flax-seeds.
