This is a weekly overview of my personal handicapping and live betting results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League with some insights on my overall approach. red chart down.jpg

This was one of those weeks were it shows how much of a grind making money by betting on sports can be. This week's results could have gone every direction and I can live with the 'small loss' as I was down around 2k at some point. There were both some flattering wins and some unfortuante losses, but nothing really stood out on the positive or negative. I try to look at the overall picture which shows lots of close margin coin flip bets, some really great bets with huge value and some really bad bets with a negative expectation. If you apply proper bankroll management and you have more of the high value bets compared to the amount of negative value bets you will make money over time.

There were 2 matches this week I talked about in my weekly Jupiler League Preview post who both played out in a very similar way.

Zulte-Waregem vs Eupen
It is never a surprise to see teams in last position take wins at the end of the season while at the same time a total collapse when getting behind is also always and option.

AA Gent vs Mechelen
This is a typical match where both a relegation team win or total collapse are possible scenarios.

Both the relegation teams took a 0-2 lead during the 1st half to see some kind of collapse afterwards. I lost some money on the first match betting on Eupen 1H +0.25 @ 1.94 after the 0-1 when they continued being the better team. They scored the 0-2 in minute 39' to see a 1-2 and 2-2 before HT which left me with an unexpected loser. It was made up in the 2nd match where I took the Over 3.25 at 0-2 and AA Gent -0.25 at 1-2 score when Mechelen were under pressure. The scenario was not 100% as mentioned in the preview, the idea behind relegation teams both overperforming and collapsing very much applied for live bets in both matches. Eupen lost 3-2 while Mechelen took a 2-2 Draw.

I always keep written notes and write down situational spots like this to better be able to estimate similar situations in future matches. Things like this can help you to a lot get better at beating these markets over time.
