Relationship Tips #8 Do You have Time for Your Love?

Does your wife tell you this? "We used to spend so much time together, doing new things. Now, you never do things with me. You'd never spend time with me. What's the point of having much but not your time!?"

Your wife is asking for your attention and time. Most probably, her love language is Quality Time. To be sure, do this quiz with her to find out hers and yours. The introduction of 5 Love Languages is here.

You could be extremely busy with your work and other stuff. You could be working so hard to climb up the corporate ladder, or improve your business profitability. And that's good.

The question is, do you want to be "there" alone or with your loved ones?

If you want to be alone, you can close this page now. If you want to be with your wife (and kids), read on.

All of us have 24 hours, and some seem to always have time for their loved ones. I believe if they can, we can too. I am not going to tell you how to make time here because you can find out the how's and what's in the internet. (Maybe I should do a write-up about this 😈)

What I'm going to share with you is, how to express love to your wife who asks for your time and attention. Let's get started.

Write a list of things you know your wife wants to do with you.

For example,

  • Spending the day in the woods (sometimes with the kids, sometimes just the two of us)
  • Going to an orchestra performance
  • Ice-skating together
  • Go to a romantic dinner

The list depends on your wife's needs. This is just an example.

Now, you know what I'm going to tell you, right?

Do Them, one a week for 2 months.

If other people can make time, you can too. You have the ability to plan your life and make time for your wife (and your kids).

If you think you're lacking of knowledge, research.

If you think you're lacking of time, that's an excuse.

All it takes is only 1 activity for 7 days. 7 days have 168 hours. One activity may take 3 hours. That's only 1.79% of one week.

Abandon your time limitations and start planning your life! Do you want to be there "there" alone or with them?

Q: What are you gonna do to make time for him/her?

Please share in the comments below. You could've literally helped someone in their lives!

"But wait, this can't be all I need to do for my wife? Don't I need to do more than just doing these activities with her?"

You are right, as I've mentioned, there are different dialects in every Love Language, and Quality Time has a few too, which I will share how to master the dialects in the next write-ups.

  1. Focussed Attention
  2. Quality Conversation
  3. Learning to "Talk"
  4. Quality Activities

This Relationship Tips series include practical how's and what's of speaking your partner's love language. If your partner's love language is Physical Touch and Quality Time, I will share firsthand experiences of what I've done and its results :)
