The weather has turned in Belgium and many of the pitches will be in poor condition which makes everything less predictable. The overall level of play last couple of weeks has also been quite poor, so unders and underdogs will be the main thing I'm looking at pre-game.
AA Gent
The match against Moeskroen started out completely as expected. Gent unable to create any chances. Moeskroen gave away an avoidable penalty near the end of the 1st half which made the match more open. My view on AA Gent remains the same even though I will be much more careful as a couple wins can get them going somehow.
Moeskroen
Moeskroen managed to start quite level with Gent in this match which ended in a somewhat flattering win for AA Gent. 1 out of 15 points last 5 matches and bad run even though I don't fully rate them that badly. I will be looking for reversal signs.
Antwerp
Antwerp played this match unwilling to lose with very little risk similar to Mechelen which made this a 0-0. Still the same angle applies for this team, they are a bit overrated after a good start in the league and are much more overish when they get behind in a match. The cup match was a good example of this angle where they lost 4-2 to Kortrijk. Late goals when needed also a good betting option.
Mechelen
Mechelen are still on my potential fade list as I see them lacking some quality.
Oostende
Oostende continue their good run against Eupen and won their Cup match against stvv. I am looking to back them and also look for unders as their defense has been excellent lately.
Eupen
Eupen turned from a crazy over team who created a lot of chances and scored a lot of goals while getting more against into a team with main focus on defense without really creating much under new coach makelele. The result 3 losses (1-0 | 1-0 |2-0). I will keep an eye out on the strategy and if it remains or gets changed back to a more offensive style before taking any bets.
Stvv
They are in the expected downtrend right now after having some luck on their side while at the same time playing good early in the season. They were the dominant team last match against Lokeren who got a red card early but did not manage to break through the defense because of a strong Lokeren goalkeeper.
Things seem to have turned and luck is no longer on their side. Will be looking to oppose them.
Lokeren
Lokeren are still in trouble and have a very hard time to score goals.
They are one of the teams I'm looking to oppose specially when they take the lead. When behind they tend to start playing better.
Waasland
Waasland seem to have a hard time and somewhat collapse defensively in matches when they get behind. They always play their own offensive game so overs remain an option specially in 2nd half. They are also still on my list of potentially underrated and have the potential to win against any team in the league
Charleroi
Charleroi keep playing their style which is totally breaking down the opponent and wait in front of their goal to score on the counter attack. Teams hate to play against them and will not be willing to take any risk which should lead to unders. On top they are without creative players Baby and Lukebakio.
Genk
Genk keep underperforming and there is no real sign of things reversing.
Coach change might be an option in the hopes for a shock effect. Similar to Gent, they have a hard time to break a defense. They remain on my wait and see list. They have shown to be solid defensively so unders are an option.
Standard
If one thing can be said about standard right now, it's that the overall team spirit and atmosphere is excellent. Coach Sa Pinto is still crazy and they will miss Mpoku this weekend. I expect and underish start this weekend in the match against Antwerp as this will mainly be about duel power.
Anderlecht
Anderlecht was the superior team in this match and had no problem with kortrijk after a very early 1-0 lead. I am looking to bet them this weekend if Lokeren somehow manages to take the lead.
Also Trebel have shown excellent form
Kortrijk
Not a good match from kortrijk who did win in the cup. I'm looking at potential 1H unders against teams that are better.
Club Brugge
The home reputation keeps getting stronger and overs are the play as long as they remain having a goalkeeper problem which pretty much still is the case.
Zulte-Waregem
Zulte-waregem are seriously underperforming at the moment and can do a lot better. They lost again in the cup and their pitch is in bad shape. Late overs when they need to score are still on top of my list. I will be looking to back them probably after the winter break.
