We’re not trying to make them perfect, we’re trying to make them “just good enough” social products,
Good enough is not enough, @zurvanic & @andrachy.
Please review these ideas with the full understanding that it is the perspective of Steemian who is on your team. Like you, this Steemian is looking to help make Steemit take over the world. Kindly consider the points, in this blog post, that could be worthwhile to think about.
No marketing can be architected on a flawed product design philosophy.
Why will a content producer take the pains to first post on Steemit or at least concurrently post on Steemit?
- Do you believe that Steemit's USP of 7 day content monetization is a killer use case?
- Will Steemit's USP of immediate content monetization bring the million follower content producers to the shoddy content creation platform, that Steemit now is?
- For the content on the social network, should not Steemit's aspirations be to innovate out of the box? Or at least benchmark against Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, Medium, WordPress or other content creation platforms, as appropriate?
Steemit is still in beta. Steemit product & marketing, crowdsourced or not,can innovate & fail fast, at almost zero risk. - Has Steemit already forgotten to make great product, even before it has become a unicorn?
Admittedly, this is strictly speaking not a marketing isssue, but for Steemit to review and/or to take a call on the strategic direction for @steemit. As marketing, you can only play the hand that @ned @sneak & the product teams have given you to play.
Is Steemit a glorified chat room for crypto geeks, anarchists & coders?
- Steemit is not the size of even a large Facebook group. There are 25 Facebook groups with over one million members.
- What are your timelines to reach at least 1 million DAU?
- Do you aspire for Steemit to have as many, if not more users than one large Facebook group?
Are you merely building out @dan's bootstrap a crypto currency plan?
But Steem is not Steemit.com. Steemit.com is the flagship app, the proof of concept.
- Without the Steemit.com, _ proof of concept_ being a resounding success, how do you expect all the other apps that you will build on it to succeed? @andrarchy
- Which app developer will throw his weight behind a platform with a stagnant user base?
So Communities are our highest priority. Completing communities will mark the beginning of a new Steemit.
That's excellent.
- What are the specifics?
- How will these be built out?
This also leads us toward non-Western markets. A key to the growth of Steemit will be growing beyond the West,
Yes.
- I'm an Indian based in Dubai.
Let's talk.
