2017 will definitely be an exciting year for Steemit, as the platform has updates set to be implemented throughout the upcoming year. With Steemit still in Beta, users can expect certain changes to take place this year, especially with Hardfork 17
Developers of STEEM and Steemit.com want to prevent the Social Network from getting overly complicated for the average casual user
The goal is to ensure that Steemit is simple enough to be understood, so that users with less tech-savy background don't have a difficult time learning about technical & fundamentals aspects of a Blockchain based Social Network, making it more user-friendly for not only newcomers but also for existing Steemians
To prepare Steemit for Mass Adoption, developers are trying a new principle KISS, short for Keep it Simple,Stupid
A Social Network built on top of Steem, is one 21st century most innovative project to utilise blockchain technology, making it a complicated System that uses a secure distributed ledger
To further improve the experience & prepare Steemit for mass-market adoption, a more user-friendly approach is set to make it more easy for user to familiarise themselves with Steemit, upcoming minor updates are rolled out to simplify the overall experience but keep in mind that in Beta stage nearly anything is possible
K.I.S.S Principle
Complicated: If you post more than 4 Posts within 24 hours, there will be reduction in reward payout for any additional posts based on a formula. This was implemented to curb the abuse of spam, so if you write more than 4 Posts your payout is significantly reduced based on a penalty(tax)
K.I.S.S: No more Penalty for making consistent Content, meaning you can submit as many Posts or Comments, without having to worry about getting less in Payouts Rewards
Complicated: Time required before you receive your payout(STEEM/SBD/SP) for your Post & Comments, payouts is affected based on algorithmic mechanism that governs Steemit, especially for longer time period(30Days) payouts are worth less once finalised
K.I.S.S: Observation based on Statistics indicate that Authors (and curators) are likely to earn more by a single 7 day (fixed) payout period than the combination of 24(variable) and 30 day(fixed). Now after 7 Days, Posts & Comments payouts will finalize meaning that you will get paid after 1 week for any content you submitted on Steemit
K.I.S.S: Now Comments are similar to Posts, with a payout time period of exactly 7 days after they being submitted. Comments have more time to gather votes, are treated as Posts with a single 7 day payout period
K.I.S.S: Nesting limit for Comments and allowing unlimited replies nested under comments. This allows other STEEM platforms to better display comments /replies in the near future so it makes any conversation easier to follow
Complicated: User need to be aware that after 30 Days, Posts & Comments cannot be edited anymore. Individuals unaware of the time period won't be able to alter any Content after 30 Days it was submitted on Steemit
K.I.S.S: Steemi Developers are now considering to allow users to edit their comments at any time, after being submitted to the Network.
The fact that only the Author is allowed to edit their own Posts & Comments, should grant them responsibility to make any changes to one own content and enable restoration of unintentional changes made by compromised accounts
K.I.S.S; short for Keep It Simple, Stupid is the guiding principle behind most of the proposals.
Now that you're more educated & informed about Steemit, why not spread awareness by Re-Steeming this Post! It makes you a Superhero, Steemit should be easy to explain and fully functional, so Keeping it Simple is very much welcomed by everyone
It's your time to Keep It Simple Superhero, educate others and stay informed
