Steemvoter Week In Review for May 27 - June 4

week in review.jpg

Today we take a break from guild vote nominations to bring you another edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review newsletter. This is an opportunity to highlight winning SV Guild picks from the previous week. Now that post payouts happen at the end of a 7-day window, we feel it's fair to give our winners one more chance at getting some recognition before their payout periods close. These are truly wonderful diamonds in the rough that you won't want to miss!

In addition, we'll share any updates that the owners of Steemvoter care to pass along plus a Tip of the Week for getting the most out of the Steemvoter service. Without further ado, we present... drum roll please...

Creating 3D models - Episode #4 [Fox] by @royalmacro

Author @royalmacro has artistic skills that are in high demand in today's digital media age, and in this post he shows them off in style. He has created a 3D model of a fox using software called Poser Pro and is graciously offering it up for free download. We love the attention to detail that went into this creation, and the variety of poses it's capable of! Also it's fun to see how the final model gets textured using some flattened skin & eye images that are really quite creepy. Thanks for sharing your work with us @royalmacro!

Why I Say No To Negative People! by @sidwrites

@sidwrites joined Steem in May 2017 and writes about philosophy and technology, his latest post rings very true for Steemit, it is important that we foster a positive and supportive environment to encourage "new blood" into our community and retain veteran users, supporting each other means supporting Steem as a whole. Stay postive and surround yourself with positve people and you will be many steps closer to success. Thank you for the inspiration @sidwrites.

Steemit Photo Challenge 42 - Entry 2 - SQUIRREL by @webdeals

Author @webdeals felt inspiration strike while out for a walk in the park, and decided to take some pictures of the park's native inhabitants. The results, we're sure you will agree, are simply stunning. We love the incredible sharpness and clarity of detail in these close-up photographs. And he has many more varied, beautiful pics in his other posts. Keep them coming!

I'm giving out 100 Steem as Tips to struggling users...anyone want to match me? by @sykochica

This post is a wonderful initiative to give back to the community by awarding 5 Steem tips to a large number of struggling authors who have so far failed to gain much recognition. @sykochica will also put 100% of the SBD payouts from this post toward the effort, as well as any additional donations received from other Steemians. We applaud this project and one of our co-owners, @cryptomancer, has decided to match @sykochica with a 100 Steem donation from his personal holdings to go toward these tips. Steem on @sykochica!

The Blockchain And The Society - What Revolution Can We Expect? by @aashishkandel

Well done to author @aashishkandel for being selected for our esteemed guild vote! Today's spotlight author has written a great article about Blockchain technology, which can serve as a great tool for onboarding new users to Blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. The technology is explained in an easy-to-follow manner but also indepth enough to act as a refresher course for some of us veterans. The illustrations are great and the post is a good and vibrant read. Thanks for this contribution to the blockchain revolution!

hammer.jpg Steemvoter Service Update

Our server migration is complete! We have successfully ported the front-end, the database and the Python scripting to our new servers, there was some minor down-time experienced during the DNS propagation but it was all worth it, the new co-located servers are much faster than the previous "home-based" setup of the past, we have seen much faster front-end load times and the segregation between the front-end and the operations layer allows us to deploy additional servers independent to the frontend to load-balance as our userbase grows.

We are also happy to report that we now have a more robust business -class SSL on the steemvoter.com domain, you will see the green "Secure" lock and text and the "https://" prefix in green also, which tells you the site is secure.

If you are having trouble logging in with your username and password it probably means your browser still stored some of the remnants from the old site so please refresh your browsers using CTRL+F5 or CTRL+R and then close and re-open the browser, this should fix all issues.

lightbulb.jpg Tip of the Week - Monitor the curation rewards on your account with Steemdb.com

User @dragon40 recently complimented us in private chat on our service and the difference it has made to his curation rewards.

Using Steemdb.com by @jesta we can track the curation performance of any Steem account simply by replacing the account name in this URL https://steemdb.com/@dragon40/curation , here we can see that @dragon40 has improved his curation rewards greatly using steemvoter.com during May and June, Steem On!

Max Voting Power Rules

At Steemvoter we believe in creating demand for Steem, by limiting the number of rules an account can use based on their SP holdings, will incentivise the purchase of Steem to Power Up to increase the number of available rules on our platform. The other way to get more rules is to pay 3 SBD per month for Premium Services which also creates Utility for SBD, which we use to buy Steem in the Internal Market anyway. Below is a table that shows how many free rules your account can have at current SP levels.

Steem Power (SP)Max Rules
< 503
50 - 995
100 - 49910
500 - 99925
1000 - 499950
5000 - 9999100
10,000 - 49,999200
50k+500

Note that subscribing to our premium service, which costs $3 SBD per month, will increase your limit to 500 voting rules regardless of your SP. That is the highest amount anyone can have.

And that's it for this edition of the Steemvoter Week In Review. We wish all of you a great week ahead!
