I went to Harajuku for Christmas and New Year gifts for my daughters last day morning of my last Tokyo trip. Before shopping, I would like to visit Meiji Jingu, not too much about spiritual stuff but more about sightseeing (Red leaves) and continue morning walk in Ueno Park.
There were red leaves along the way to the Shrine.
Taking photos of people cleaning themselves became a must for me.
When I walked passed the main gate of Meiji Jingu, I saw a group of people walked across in front of the Honden. There were staffs of the Jingu running around, clearing the way for that group of people.
Bride and groom were led by priest of the Jingu, followed by friends and relatives of them. The whole group then walked slowly back to the hall next to the Jingu, the Kaguraden. I believed this was the first traditional Japaense wedding I encountered.
After the couple entered the Kaguraden, I walked around. I realized there were other couples taking wedding photos in Meiji Jingu. I counted 4 pairs of couples, maybe more. I guessed that day was good for wedding!
