I love it when someone request me a recipe or two to do, reminds me of my Youtube days, subscribers would request me to do this cake or that cake π
Yesterday as I was going through what I had in the kitchen, to see what I can whip up for Day 7 of 30 Days of Indonesia, I decided to do a steamed cake , made of glutinous rice with belle banana and is called Dugo.
To my surprise when I was done making the cake, I went on Steemit to see a follower requested a cake. A different cake, however, either Dugo or the cake that was requested, they are both from the same place, Aceh π What a coincidence. Is the person a mind reader???? π€ͺππ€ͺπ
Indonesia is the 2nd largest users of Steemit, and those accounts are mainly from Aceh, a province in Indonesia.
Again, since there isn't belle banana in Canada, I used plantain instead.
You don't have to wrap the cake in banana leaf, you can use mold, however you won't get that lovely scent and flavor of screw- pine leaf and banana leaf.
ingredients
- 200 g sticky rice/glutinous rice/short grain rice
- 100 ml thick coconut milk
- 25 g sugar
- 1/3 c desiccated coconut, unsweetened
- a pinch of salt
- 1 ripe plantain
- banana leaf and fragrant leaf (screwpine leaf) as needed.
how to
- soak sticky rice in cold water for 2 H
- drain and rinse
- line your steamer with banana leaf and dump rice in. Steam for 30 minutes
- pour coconut milk into a pot and stir in rice
- cook on low-medium heat just until coconut milk is soaked into rice
- slice plantain in half. Mash one side and cube one side
- mix in mashed plantain, followed with sugar, coconut, salt, then cubed plantain
- grab a piece of banana leaf, place a piece of screwpine leaf, then scoop in 1/2 c rice on the leaf. Wrap and secure.
- steam Dugo for 30 minutes

Sejauh ini dalam rangka #promo-indonesia melalui #ramadan-tkf, aku sudah mengunggah resep dari Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Jawa, dan sekarang dari Sumatera (Aceh) π
Kemarin aku buat Dugo. Lucunya setelah menghabiskan waktu di dapur, pada saat aku mulai bersiap2 mau jemput anakku dari sekolah, pas aku lirik Steemit, daaaaan ternyata si @ojaatjeh ada request kue dari Aceh, yaitu -timphan π
Oke deh, suatu hari mungkin yah. Untuk sementara ini, dugo dulu yak π
Sedap ini sajian dan juga wangi. Sayangnya aku harus memakai pisang plantain karena disini hanya ada cavendish, si pisang ambon, dan akan basah/benyek kata orang Jawa, kalau di haluskan. Akhirnya aku akalin dengan plantain dan yum! Sekarang dugo jadi salah satu favoritku deh. Enak π
Apa ada yang pernah pakai (tambahan) nangka ataupn sultana? Sepertinya juga akan enak. Mungkin besok2 aku coba dengan nangka ataupu sultana.
bahan-bahan
- 200 g beras ketan, rendam di air 2 jam
- 100 ml santan kental
- 1 pisang plantain
- sejumput garam
- 25 g gula pasir
- 1/3 gelas kelapa parut kering siap pakai
- daun pisang
- daun pandan
cara membuat
- lapisi kukusan dengan daun pisang
- tiriskan beras ketan dan kukus selama 30 menit
- tuang santan ke panci, lalu masukkan beras ketan
- masak di atas api kecil/sedang, aduk2, hingga kesat
- belah pisang menjadi dua, haluskan salah satunya, dan potong dadu yang satu lagi
- masukkan pisang halus, aduk rata
- masukkan bahan lainnya, aduk
- ambil selembar daun pisang, beri selembar daun pandan
- beri beberap sendok beras ketan, bungkus
- kukus dugo selama 30 menit
