5 min Writing Prompt "Wasps" #freewrite Serial Story ACT TWO Chapter Twelve

He stares at the Deer Woman. "I know you!"

She smiles calmly. After a few seconds he awkwardly untangles himself from the tapestry and stumbles to his feet. She regards him cooly as he does this, gently cradling a glass jar in her hands, held before her belly.

As he straightens up he notices a buzzing sound from within the glass jar. "What's in the jar?" he asks.

"Wasps," responds the Deer woman, looking down at her charge with appreciation and care.

He wrinkles his nose in fear. "What good are wasps to you?"

The Deer Woman looks him straight in the eye, and he can see that her own eyes are a bright orange hue. She takes a step forward.

"Wasps are good for pain."
