Coffee Time Meditation #15 -- Sept. 15th

“Each day when I awake I know I have one more day to make a difference in someone’s life.” — James Mann

Thoughts on Today’s Quote

Every day is a new day. Full of opportunity and the unknown.

Do you seek to make a difference in others lives each day?

Even one person who’s life is just a small bit better through something you have said or done can make a big difference in that person’s life.

I know a kind little lady who made every day a day to make a difference. I used to say she had a ministry of small kindnesses.

She would make her way down the street of this small community and it would be a wave to this person or a smile to another. Someone might not have gotten to church and she’d quietly drop the church bulletin off to their home. Newspapers clippings would arrive in a mailbox that she thought the person might appreciate.

She lives in a retirement residence in another community now as she nears 90 years of age. She still continues those small kindnesses. I opened my back door one day and found a bag attached to the door handle. She’d had a friend drop off some news clippings. I smiled, I knew exactly who it came from.

I figure if I can do that with someone each day, get a smile of appreciation for something I’ve done for them. It’s a pretty good day. She set me a very good example.

Don’t know about you, but I find it interesting to know who the person was that anyone took the time to record or quote that person.*
