Lolo is whining
begging to be let outside
UPS is here
Cori MacNaughton
A few times a day, Lolo goes into nuclear barking mode, which usually involves a large truck going down the highway, or the UPS truck coming down our driveway, or that of one of our close neighbors.
It is especially fun if I am on the phone at the time, as no matter how important the conversation, nothing at all will be heard until the truck goes away, which if we are actually getting a delivery, can take a while.
Luckily, Lolo's reputation precedes him, and the UPS drivers all know that the worst thing he is likely to do is to jump on them to be petted, which naturally he is NOT allowed to do, not that that slows him down any. ;-)
This photo is of Lolo shortly after we adopted him, at roughly ten weeks of age, showing his brown and blue eyes, which prompted Marek to drive to Kentucky to pick him up and bring him home. He is a sweetheart, though he is quite protective of me, which in a rural area is a very good thing.
When I am taking water and more feed down to the goats, I often take the car, and that is what Lolo lives for, because he LOVES to race me down to the barn. It's no fun for him when I'm walking, because in the speed department, against me, Lolo doesn't even have to try.
Of course, en route he often takes off after deer, rabbits, squirrels or other forest critters, and he is FAST, and a joy to watch when he is running. He is in his element when he runs.
I am very thankful that we have Lolo. He lets me know when anything unusual is afoot, when anyone comes on our place, whenever we get a delivery, and he is a good protector, for me and for the cats. We are lucky to have him.
And I would love to hear your take in the comments.

Melaleuca, a company that has been making natural, eco-friendly
products since the 1980s, that not only work as well as
chemically laden versions from the supermarket,
but are safer, and typically save money overall in addition.
I was introduced to them by a co-worker in 1990, lost track
of them, and was thrilled to find them again about a year
and a half ago. I strongly recommend their products.

All words are my own.
The photo of our dog, Lolo, and our late cat, Miod, I took as they were cooperatively begging at the dinner table, despite our longstanding rule of not feeding them from the table.
You can see how much that deterred them both.
