These post started out as a weekly roundup, but became more something of a weekly preview so I'm changing the name. Winter Break is over, some transfers were made, streaks are no longer in play and some of the angles might have changed. This first week of the 2nd part of the season will be more about getting a good feel on the teams again so just some basic notes going into the matches this week.

Charleroi

Charleroi are in 2nd place with their "ultra defensive break down opponent" style and I don't expect much to change about their approach. They lost Tainmont during the winter break and again didn't show anything last week in the Cup match against Club Brugge. I will still be looking at the unders on their matches and took some 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.01 against Moeskroen as they are 4W-1L at home against that line and Moeskroen are 3W-1L. Looks like a good setup for a closed match.

Moeskroen

Not much changed for Moeskroen during the winter break. Currently in 9th place and I expect them to be more concerned about being secure instead of taking many risks for a small chance to get into Play-off 1.

Standard

Also nothing really changed for Standard, at times they played good in the first half of the season, but overall were far from impressive and reliable. They can be bet or opposed live based on how they perform.

Eupen

Eupen are in last place 2 points below Kv Mechelen. I expect them to keep their more defensive play style for now and maybe switch to an approach with more risk later on in the season in case they need it.

Oostende

No real winter transfers for Oostende. After the late loss against Genk last week,
they seem to be out for play-off 1. they have enough overall quality and should not get into trouble. Their president bought Anderlecht and will leave in a couple months.

Kortrijk

Kortrijk look to be in a safe position after De Boeck took over when things looked problematic. 4 of their 5 last matched went over the total which is something I will be looking out for the next couple weeks when they come to a point where they are really safe..

Waasland

Waasland both lost succes coach Clement and strong midfielder Seck to Genk. They failed to get what they deserved in the first part of the season where they played excellent. I expect things to be more difficult. New coach vermant is a big question mark and Seck will be missed. They should still have enough quality not to get into trouble though.

Stvv

Stvv are still in 6th place but it will be very difficult for them to keep this play-off 1 spot.

Mechelen

Mechelen overall slightly lacked some quality in the first part of the season and should be very nervous only being 2 points ahead of the relegation spot. They did get some enforcements Tainmont / Verdier. I did oppose them in their match against Zulte-Waregem. (See week 22 Early Bet)

Zulte-Waregem

This team has been very unfortunate to go on a horrible streak. They have enough quality not to get in trouble though. I hope the winter stop helped to break the poor run along with the fact that they bought 3 enforcenements. (Damien Marcq, Hamdi Harbaoui, Theo Bongonda). I wrote about how I planned to back them after the break which is exactly what I did. Zulte-Waregem +0.25 @ 1.98 and +0 @ 2.40

Antwerp

Antwerp overperformed in the first part of the season and I would not be surprised to see them drop back a bit. They made some winter transfers but I have no idea how to estimate them. Will be wait and see.

Club Brugge

Club Brugge continued their exellent form in last weeks cup match against Charleroi which is exactly what I expect them to do at the start of this 2nd half of the regular season. The odds also heavily reflect this so no real reason to take them pre-game for me. The play-offs often play mind tricks on the leader after points are havled, but they are still 8 matches away.

Genk

It will be interesting to see what Genk can do under offensive coach Clement. The main betting spot I will be looking at is the over even though they are missing some strikers.

Anderlecht

Tricky situation for Anderlecht who did not really manage to make any incoming winter transfers. Soon they have a new owner. They currently lack offensive players and big part of their defense is also out. I do believe the team spirit will be better as coach Vanhaezebroeck finally had some time with the group.

AA Gent

AA Gent started poorly but improved near the end of the year. Odds are set quite sharp and I will mainly look at them live if they manage to dominate.

Lokeren

Lokeren were poor in the 1st half of the season and not yet safe. They are still high on my fade and team total under list
