Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American poetic songwriter, singer, painter, writer, and Nobel prize laureate. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when his songs chronicled social unrest. Early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the Civil Rights Movement and anti-war movement. Leaving behind his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone", recorded in 1965, enlarged the range of popular music.

I think I can safely say that Bob Dylan has indeed changed the world.

His music helped shape a generation.

I have personally seen this guy play more times then I can count.

I've followed behind on whole tours of his.

Even as an old man he still fills the house.

While I'm positive that there are many inspiring quotes that one could pull from this man, I bring you only one.

"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night,
and in between he does what he wants to do."

Success can be many things.

Many see it as making a lot of money, having a lot of power or being remembered.

I showcase people in these posts that have done just those things.

The reason being that this type of success is very easy to measure.

Very easy for people to see without being shown or having it explained.

The truth is, your success should resonate with you.

It needs to be something that makes you happy, that makes you feel accomplished.

Don't get sucked into chasing something that is really to impress others.

Never let other people shape your dreams.

If you do, you may achieve them, but you will have a certain emptiness.

A void left behind from not following your own path and your own dream.

You will always feel like there was something missing.

Also, if you are truly following your own dream, you will have far more passion than if you are shaping what you think others want you to.

With that added passion and the same determination you will likely achieve more than if you were not following your own path.

I've heard it said that later in life we regret the things we didn't do far more than the things we did.

Never be afraid to do something that you know will make you feel good.

Neglecting to do these things may have you looking back saying "What if?...".

So do what inspires you, what brings you joy, what makes you feel good!

Keep in mind what one of the most influential musicians of the last century said:

"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night,
and in between he does what he wants to do."

Do you!!

Thanks for reading.
