Hoje, no #LoveFriday venho falar-vos da minha revolução grisalha :D
Today on #LoveFriday I'm bringing you my little revolution, the gray revolution :D

Tomei a decisão de deixar de pintar o cabelo e assumir as minhas “brancas”. Ainda não tenho o cabelo totalmente grisalho, mas já tenho bastantes cabelos brancos e pensei “porquê pintar, fazer nuances, se as tenho naturais?”

I decided to stop coloring my hair and let myself go silver. My hair isn’t still completely gray, but I have plenty of them and I thought "why coloring my hair, make highlights if I have them already?"

Tomei essa decisão sem saber que já nascera um movimento com expressão internacional, a designada revolução grisalha, ou revolution gray. E porquê uma revolução? Porque visa a libertação das mulheres dos cânones de beleza tradicionais segundo os quais temos que parecer sempre mais jovens, incluindo esconder os cabelos grisalhos, o que nos homens até é considerado um sinal de charme.

I made up my mind without knowing that an international movement had been born, the so-called Revolution Gray. And why is it a revolution? Because it aims to proudly free women from the traditional beauty standards according to which we must always look younger, including coloring our hair once it gets grey, considered a sign of charm in men.

Agora que tenho lido sobre isto, vim a saber uma jornalista até foi achincalhada por ter posto uma foto dela em que se viam os brancos. Tudo passou ao lado da noticia só para a agredirem, desde chamarem-lhe desleixada e outros adjetivos menos polidos, até a mandarem pintar o cabelo, tendo muitos comentários desses vindos de mulheres. Como é possível?

Now that I've read about it, I've known about a journalist that was bullied for posting a picture with her silver hair. Oblivious to the news, people just focused on her hair and started calling her sloppy and making nasty comments about her hair, most coming from women. How is that possible?

Fiquei, assim, a saber que a minha decisão foi uma decisão rebelde. Como rebeldes são esses fios de prata que pontuam a minha cabeça. Eu, que nem sou rebelde, neste caso ainda fico mais entusiasmada para o fazer. Fi-lo por conforto, por achar desnecessário sujeitar o meu cabelo, e a minha saúde, a tintas, e também porque posso investir o tempo e o dinheiro em coisas que me dão realmente prazer.

I was then aware that my decision was rebellious. As rebellious are the silver strands that grow of my head. I'm not even a rebellious person, but in this case, I was even more enthusiastic about doing it. I did it for comfort, for finding it liberating, having no need to subject my hair, and my health, to chemicals, and also because I can invest the time and the saved money into things that I really love.
