Coffee Time Meditation #18 -- Sept. 18th

“Trust in what you love, continue to do it, and it will take you where you need to go.” — Natalie Goldberg

Thoughts on Today’s Quote

I don’t know how often I’ve doubted myself and what I’m doing. Have you done that?

Self-examination and exploring other options can be a good way to grow. It can also be debilitating if you don’t form a base of faith in what you are doing.

It is one thing to build on a base because you trust what you are doing is right for you. It is quite another to build on a base because it seems like the thing to do.

For example, I trust that writing on Steemit is right for me.

I had spent years putting writing aside influenced by others who had zero faith in my ability to write and earn money. That was my error, I knew I wanted to write and to make my income from doing so.

Instead, I was into fields where I could have made substantial income, but my heart wasn’t in it. It was fields that others had pressed me into and I went along because the path had been cleared for me. I took the easy route because I lacked faith in my own ability.

I hit a crossroads. I came to the point where I needed to spend a substantial sum to renew a license for a career I didn’t really have any passion for or buckle down and actually write instead of ‘wanting to write’ and doing nothing.

I decided for better or worse, I would write. Not long afterward, I discovered Steemit.

Now, Steemit doesn’t provide me a living. It provides me with a basis to trust in doing what I love. I can build on that base. I can now trust that writing will take me where I want to go, I just need to point myself to where I want to go and do the work.

Do you trust in what you are doing? Are you doing what you love?

*I will try to find information on the author of the quotes I share. I wont always be successful.

Don’t know about you, but I find it interesting to know who the person was that anyone took the time to record or quote that person.*
