Recently, I went through some of my back log of photos...
Last month @nebcat and I took a trip out to Henry Hagg Lake. It was our first trip of the summer. Bae had his camera, and I had my phone. We were determined to catch some sun. And a bit of local history was soon to be ours. We had no idea what we would find that day as we tromped through the unkempt grass and over the hills. We found several places to get some good pictures at. One thing we didn't do: we did not run down the hill...
Please join me as I spread out our adventure in photo blog format (below).
This partial panorama has been reduced to half-size
Dimensions: 1136 × 536. This is a view from the NE side of the lake. The tree is a classic icon. We watched two teenagers run down the hill to the picnic table by the tree. We laughed at them and continued to take pictures of the lake. It was pleasant to see people out boating. The sun felt good. We agreed this was a good view. It was going to be a great summer day!
What will Bae find next?
We took off down a side road on the opposite side of the main road. It was there we found a decaying skeleton. It was some smaller mammal, possibly a fox or wild cat. The spine was still a little ripe and spread out like it had been dragged across the path. The skull and femur bone were not too far from the spine, drug away into the full sun where the bones were better bleached. A scapula and some arm and leg bones were further down the trail.
Naturally we left after exploring a little further down the trail at which point we came to a dead end...
So it was on to the next spot.
Around the lake we went until we came upon this cool spot with waterfront access! It was a great spot to go fishing. We know because a fisherman came upon us just as we started taking portraits, lol. Awkward...Don't think it was an easy feat to get down to the water, either. Several roadside trails intertwined and wound down to this spot, filled with trees and shade. The shady trees went on a quarter mile before we breached the sunlight on the lakeside (where I took the picture above).
I really enjoyed being out on the lake that day.
I hope you all enjoyed this post! There are several more good pictures I would like to share with you before I go. Hoping you all have a good day. Love & Light! Cheers! Prost! Nostrovia! Salude!
