George Herman "Babe" Ruth Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948) was an American professional baseball player whose career in Major League Baseball (MLB) spanned 22 seasons, from 1914 through 1935. Nicknamed "The Bambino" and "The Sultan of Swat", he began his MLB career as a stellar left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees. Ruth established many MLB batting (and some pitching) records, including career home runs (714), runs batted in (RBIs) (2,213), bases on balls (2,062), slugging percentage (.6897), and on-base plus slugging (OPS) (1.164); the latter two still stand today. Ruth is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. In 1936, Ruth was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members.]

This guy is one of the most well known baseball players of all time.

His legacy stretches far and wide.

He said something that I think touches on one of the most important factors of success and life in general.

“It's hard to beat a person who never gives up."

What a powerful statement!

I'm going to keep today's inspiration short because this really doesn't need much explanation.

You only fail if you give up.

That's it, that's the only way.

Sure you will have failures here and there, lots of them if you're good at something.

Each one should be looked at as a learning experience.

Each time you should get right back up no matter how broken you may be.

Giving up can never be an option.

If you don't give up then you can never be defeated!

We've all heard it said that quitters never win and winners never quit.

When you give up the only thing you are really giving up on is yourself.

So, no matter how badly you've been beaten.

No matter how broken your mind or body is.

No matter what other people tell you.

You have to give it one more shot!

Search deep within for that last spark of life if you have to and give it all you've got!

Remember what The Bambino used to say:

“It's hard to beat a person who never gives up."

Then muster what you can and go for it!

Thanks for reading.
