TitleWounded
DescriptionWe don’t want to be in pain. We don’t want to be hurt. We only want to be happy and free. We only want to be comfortable and joyful. But it is not how our life is designed. We will be wounded. We will be in pain. That is the truth.

The Drawing Process

  • Penciling is a preliminary sketching method to draw shapes and forms. When I do my penciling, I usually do not add too much pressure so that I can do adjustments easily if I need too. 6ED23908-AF19-4E2C-8487-0BCB667C8FA8.jpeg

  • Outlining is a method used to trace the outline of an object’s shape and form using different media. Normally, I outline right after penciling especially when I am working with inks. I do this so that I will know my boundaries and limits. 0DFDC12E-105C-4B80-9DBA-4BA8DC8F1DC7.jpeg

  • Hatching is done by creating parallel lines to create a shade or value in the drawing. Hatching and Cross-Hatching are also my favorite methods when working with ink because it is easy and fast in adding value in the drawing. This is a quick resort in making shadow effects with ink. • Cross-Hatching is done by crossing the hatch used. It resembles the letter X or the crossing of the two diagonal lines. 703FEA21-85D9-4911-88E4-45112C1DB957.jpeg

  • Detailing it is the process of adding necessary information and details in the drawing. Details are very important because it is the element that gives life to the drawing. In this case, I added different details in my artwork to create another effect to my drawing. I hope you like it.

  • Making a Background it is done to create a space and value. I do not always use backgrounds in my drawing because it is time-consuming, but lately I discovered that it is as important as the foreground or the subject of the drawing. Like for this one, if I did not put a background here, it is expected that the subject will appear to be dull and lifeless.

  • Finishing Touches it is the last steps of your drawing. In this case, I have to continue doing the arms and the last remaining background.
