Buddha
Candles
Gautama Buddha (c. 563 BCE/480 BCE – c. 483 BCE/400 BCE), also known as Siddhārtha Gautama [sid̪ːʱɑːrt̪ʰə gəut̪əmə], Shakyamuni Buddha [ɕɑːkjəmun̪i bud̪ːʱə], or simply the Buddha, after the title of Buddha, was an ascetic (śramaṇa) and sage, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. He is believed to have lived and taught mostly in the eastern part of ancient India sometime between the sixth and fourth centuries BCE.

There are many quotes from Buddha that are wonderful.
Many that are very insightful and meaningful.
The one that I chose for today is a favorite of mine.
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
I really love what he's saying here.
First of all, he's right!
A candle lighting another candle takes nothing away from the first candle.
As they are lit, the area becomes brighter with each newly lit candle.

Happiness works much the same way.
When we share happiness it actually makes us more happy!
There is no reason at all to ever hold it in.
If we have something positive to share, we really should share it!

In doing so it brightens our day along with whoever we've shared it with.
That person, with their newly heightened state will then likely share something happy and bright with someone else!
This creates a beautiful chain reaction!

This is part of why I do this series.
If I can share a positive inspiration with you it inspires me.
Hearing your replies heightens it and if I'm lucky it will inspire someone else in the process.
If it does, they may share some of their inspiration with others along their path today.
This can keep that inspiration alive in beautiful web of positive energy.
So I urge all of you to light your candles and shine them bright!
Offer a light to another while your flame is lit...
And if yours is dwindling accept a light from someone else!
Let's remember what Buddha said:
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
Let's shine bright today!
Thanks for reading.
