Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.
Jack Steem spent the morning harvesting the mushrooms in their garden. The money from the mushroom sale, increased the household funds, and then Jack was off to catch the cowplant berry. The location of the pool of water, is behind the Oasis Spring’s park called Desert Bloom.
I was fishing from the pond in the park, but this pool is quite a good way, away from the park. If you mouse behind the park, you will see a few different places to fish, picnic tables, and a restroom. Once you see this little cave, you can click on the sign, and then select go fishing. You do not need any bait to fish up the cowplant berry.
After a few hours of fishing, Jack’s inventory contained 3 cowplant berries. He is a happy fishersim! Now he can go back to the house, and plant the cowplants. With the fish Jack caught, and Victoria’s pay for the day, they should be able to afford to expand the house a little bit. With a baby on the way, Jack needs to step up, and make some room for another Sim.
Jack’s garden is increasing by the day. He fished up an apple the day before, and planted it in the yard. Now, he will plant his cowplants! The fish he caught this afternoon, increased the household funds to almost $300. This should be enough to add onto the house, so we will have Jack build some walls, and maybe they will have a bathroom! Maybe, we’ll see how good of a carpenter he is…
With Victoria’s pay for the day, I could afford to pull the walls, to make the house bigger for the Steem family. They now have more than enough room for a baby. Victoria is still in her first trimester, so they should be able to purchase some paint and carpet before the baby gets here. A roof would be nice!
After that, they will have a year, to add an additional bedroom, and a bathtub. Sims cannot bathe their toddlers in the shower…. Plan ahead people! And don’t forget to save the game.
(Of course, I did not save the game, had 10 windows open, and my computer froze, so I had to play the game, and take the screenshots again. Isn’t that ironic… don’t you think?)
The next morning, the mushrooms were ready to harvest, and Victoria volunteered to harvest them, while Jack repaired the toilet… again.
Victoria has the day off work, so she will go along with Jack today to gather more seeds for the garden, while he levels his fishing skill. I do not know how long she will be able to stay out in the sun, but they can have lunch at the park.
Victoria has reached her 2nd trimester in her pregnancy. Isn’t this the cutest picture? They are holding hands in front of their little garden, and Victoria is thinking about cupcakes. This will be her last day to go out and have fun, so maybe she’ll play at the park too! The 3rd trimester of pregnancy will begin in 21 hours.
Victoria found a nice lounge at the park where Jack is fishing. Her mood is raised as she meets her fun need by listening to blues music, and reading a book. She has an extra buff because the lounge is nicely decorated. While she is sitting there comfortable, I can pause the game and look around the neighborhood for seeds that she can gather for the garden.
Each seed that she finds can be planted in the family garden, and will increase both the Sim’s gardening skills, and the value of their harvest. The mushrooms seem to be good producers every day, if the Steem family can keep up with harvesting, they will have some extra income.
The bills, arrived again this morning.
Across the street from the park is a chrysanthemum flower. Seeds can be collected by clicking the plant, and then selecting harvest from the options. The Sim will then take the seed, or the fruit, and place it into their inventory. The plants will be included in the gardening collection.
Each time you harvest a plant, the plant will be included in the gardening collection. To complete the collection, you will need to look for plants all over the Sim world.
Some plants, such as the lemon trees around the park, will need a higher skill of gardening to harvest. Victoria and Jack do not have a high level of gardening, so we will check back later, after they have raised their gardening level.
A nice lunch in the park was the perfect way to spend Victoria’s day off from work.
You can cook on any grill in the game, if you have the money to pay for the food. And, it is expensive. That plate of burgers costs $18.
The plate will be served on a picnic table, close by the grill. Once the plate is placed on the table, the Sims can then grab a serving together or put it in their inventory. The plate can be dragged into either Sim’s inventory, and then placed in the refrigerator when they return home.
The food will go bad, if it is left in the inventory too long. Food will stay fresh longer, by placing it in the refrigerator as soon as possible.
Jack and Victoria need a little more money to cover the bills. Two fishersims are better than one. I chose to send them to go fishing together. Victoria’s fishing is a level 4, and Jack’s fishing skill reached level 5 before lunch. They should have a good chance of fishing up the bestselling fish.
By the end of the night, all is well in the Steem household. Jack fished up enough fish, and upgrade parts, to cover the bills for another month. Victoria is doing very well in her pregnancy, and their garden is looking good too. Jack gathered some flower seeds, and also brought home a frog. The frog gives them a decorated buff.
I hope you have learned a little more about playing the Sims 4 game, and how to collect resources around the Sim world. If the Sim can click on something, chances are, they can interact with the item in some way.
If the options are greyed out, such as it was when we tried to harvest trees, then this means another action must be performed, before the option will become available. In this case, my Sim needs to level their gardening skills, before they can harvest trees.
Until next time,
Happy Gaming- Sim Girl
